Meet the Team

Solihull Chelsea Nursery Manager

Chelsea Jones

I have been working for Bright Horizons since 2016 and I am a Qualified Early Years Teacher. I have over ten years experience in Early Years and have worked my way through a range of roles within nursery settings.

I was appointed Nursery Manager of Solihull Day Nursery in September 2020 and my vision is to provide outstanding care and learning for every child. Having previously completed my BSc Psychology degree, I understand how crucial early experiences are, and alongside the team here, we will endeavour to ensure all experiences support each child’s emotional and physical wellbeing; creating a good foundation for future learning and development.

Rugby Beehive Day Nursery and Preschool Deputy Manager

Laura Smith

I have over 10 year experience working within the childcare sector, starting from being a childminders assistant to working in an array of nurseries in and around the Rugby area. I have been working at Bright Horizons Rugby since 2014 starting out as Toddler room leader and deputy manager, to working my way up to nursery manager in 2017. I have a degree in early years care & education and also hold my Early Years Teaching Status.  I also have both my emergency first aid at work and Paediatric first aid. Here at Rugby day nursery we strive to offer all our families and children the best possible experiences to help our children grow and flourish throughout their Bright Horizons journey.

Solihull Kerry Deputy Manager

Kerry Jeffery

I have been working for Bright Horizons since 2015 and have been based at Solihull Day Nursery since 2018. During my time with the company I have worked as a Room Leader, then progressed to Deputy Manager.

When I left school I was passionate to complete a qualification to enable me to work with children. I completed an NVQ Level 3 Childcare; Learning and Development and have never looked back since.

Every day is a new day, and every day brings different opportunities of learning and development for the children and I thrive on knowing we have been part of that.

Candy Floss

Candy Floss

Hi, my name is Candy Floss, I joined Bright Horizons in March 2010 as the ‘Super Safety Hero’ to help nursery children stay safe and manage risks. My role as a Health and Safety Super Hero is unique to Bright Horizons and I’m in every nursery, 365 days a year.

Back in 2010, I saw a job advert for a Zebra Super Safety Hero – I was very excited, applied and was invited for an interview with several other zebras. We were interviewed by all the children who then voted on which of us would be their Super Safety Hero. It was hoof biting but I was thrilled when they told me I was the most voted for by the children who all loved me because of my cape and bag. My bag is very special, if something fits inside, it’s a choking hazard. You might be wondering how I got my name. The children in our nurseries chose five names and voted for their favourite. I love it as it’s unique, I mean have you ever heard of a zebra called Candy Floss? Exactly!

Why Bright Horizons

The Bright Horizons passion and enthusiasm for providing high-quality care isn’t just common knowledge within our own business – we’ve also gained some impressive accolades from external sources for excellence as both a childcare provider, and as an employer. We are the only childcare company to have been listed for the last 11 years as one of the country’s top 50 “Great Places to Work” by the Great Place to Work Institute.
