An outstanding nursery in Lichfield

Welcome to Springfields Day Nursery and Preschool. Our long-standing team is dedicated to providing the best care and education for children aged 3 months to 5 years. We're very proud to be an Ofsted Outstanding nursery and we can't wait to welcome you.

An Inspiring Environment

Babies enjoy the cosy and sensory-rich environment of our baby room, which has been designed to encourage their curiosity and help them reach their milestones.

Our toddler room is the perfect place for your child to explore while making new friends. With an indoor climbing frame and lots of exciting resources to play with, there is so much for them to discover.

Older children love our nursery and preschool rooms, where activities are planned to enhance their imagination and skills. Preschoolers are taught by a qualified preschool teacher using our Ready for School programme.

Getting to Know Our Mascots

Your little one will love getting to know our mascots, including Candy Floss, Tilly Tiger, Ollie Owl and Mo Monkey, who all represent different characteristics of learning, helping children identify their strengths.

A Bright Beginning for Every Child

Designed by our Early Years specialists, your little one will get the best start to their schooling life through our enriching and wellbeing-focused Bright Beginnings Curriculum.

Building on the foundations of the government's EYFS curriculum, it combines a wide range of activities to nurture and develop the skills your child needs to flourish and reach their full potential. This holistic yet personal approach supports each child's wellbeing, development, and progress - whether that's moving rooms or preparing them for school.

Children also enjoy Boogie Mites music sessions where they can learn about the world through music and song.

You can stay updated with your child's day through our Bright Horizons Family app.

Enjoying the Great Outdoors

Babies and toddlers share a cosy and exciting garden area. With an astroturf floor, the garden can be enjoyed in all weathers.

Older children have freeflow access to their own dedicated garden, which features a vegetable patch, outdoor stage, mud kitchen, sand area, and a playground.

All-Inclusive Care and Convenience

  • Nutritionally balanced meals are prepared by our onsite chef. Our all-inclusive care extends to meals, snacks and sun cream.
  • Onsite car park and buggy park.
  • Our nursery is close to Lichfield City train station.
  • Located in the catchment area of many local schools.
  • Limited funded only places are available.

Meet the Team

Springfields Day Nursery and Preschool Manager

Helen Marquise

Helen joined Springfields Nursery in 1992 as a student whilst completing National B-Tec, gaining a full-time position in June 1994 as Nursery Nurse. After a year she left for 8 months to become a Nanny and gain experience in a different job role, however, decided that Springfields and Nursery Nursing was what she wanted to do. Helen came back to Springfields in October 1995 and worked her way up, becoming Nursery Manager in 2001.

Candy Floss

Candy Floss

Hi, my name is Candy Floss, I joined Bright Horizons in March 2010 as the ‘Super Safety Hero’ to help nursery children stay safe and manage risks. My role as a Health and Safety Super Hero is unique to Bright Horizons and I’m in every nursery, 365 days a year.

Back in 2010, I saw a job advert for a Zebra Super Safety Hero – I was very excited, applied and was invited for an interview with several other zebras. We were interviewed by all the children who then voted on which of us would be their Super Safety Hero. It was hoof biting but I was thrilled when they told me I was the most voted for by the children who all loved me because of my cape and bag. My bag is very special, if something fits inside, it’s a choking hazard. You might be wondering how I got my name. The children in our nurseries chose five names and voted for their favourite. I love it as it’s unique, I mean have you ever heard of a zebra called Candy Floss? Exactly!

Why Bright Horizons

The Bright Horizons passion and enthusiasm for providing high-quality care isn’t just common knowledge within our own business – we’ve also gained some impressive accolades from external sources for excellence as both a childcare provider, and as an employer. We are the only childcare company to have been listed for the last 11 years as one of the country’s top 50 “Great Places to Work” by the Great Place to Work Institute.
