An Outstanding and Homely Nursery in Lichfield

Our stunning Springfields Day Nursery in Lichfield has been rated Outstanding by Ofsted three times in a row. Established since 1989, we have a long-standing team who work together to create a safe and inspiring, yet homely environment for every child in our care, from 3 months to 5 years.

Children are assigned a key person who is dedicated to their wellbeing and supports their transition to nursery life. Our outdoor space at Springfields nursery is divided into two areas designed to support different age groups. Over twos can enjoy learning about healthy food choices with the help of our vegetable patch, and perform their own shows on our outdoor stage.

We have a dedicated Ready for School Room that gives every child the opportunity to gain knowledge and confidence to thrive in school and beyond. The room encourages independence through self-serve meal times, with children getting their own plates and cutlery. Our unique Healthy Hearts and Minds activities provide inspirational and engaging learning experiences using the innovative and well established Boogie Mites and myHappymind programmes.

Our nursery utilises Candy Floss, Bright Horizons’ health and safety mascot, to teach children valuable lessons in keeping everyone safe. Children at Springfields also benefit from Springfields’ unique characters. Tilly Tiger, Ollie Owl and Mo Monkey all represent a different characteristic of effective learning, helping children to identify their strengths.

Springfields nursery’s policies and procedures, including our unique and free settling in sessions, are designed to give parents confidence in the safe and stimulating environment we provide. The nursery is also in the catchment area of many local schools.

Local parents have recognised our efforts by giving us a 5/5 star rating on Google reviews (as of March 2020).

We would love to meet you and your little one, so book a visit today and we will show you everything our nursery has to offer during your own personal tour.

Meet the Team

Springfields Day Nursery and Preschool Manager

Helen Marquise

Helen joined Springfields Nursery in 1992 as a student whilst completing National B-Tec, gaining a full-time position in June 1994 as Nursery Nurse. After a year she left for 8 months to become a Nanny and gain experience in a different job role, however, decided that Springfields and Nursery Nursing was what she wanted to do. Helen came back to Springfields in October 1995 and worked her way up, becoming Nursery Manager in 2001.

Springfields Day Nursery and Preschool Deputy Manager

Sam Badger

Sam began her career with Asquith as a member of our cover/supply team in 2008. Her talent for childcare was quickly identified and she was employed as a full-time nursery nurse shortly after starting. Sam settled in very quickly and worked her way up the ladder from Room Leader to Assistant Manager. During her first few months employed at Springfields, Sam has successfully achieved her Early Years Professional Status.

Candy Floss

Candy Floss

Hi, my name is Candy Floss, I joined Bright Horizons in March 2010 as the ‘Super Safety Hero’ to help nursery children stay safe and manage risks. My role as a Health and Safety Super Hero is unique to Bright Horizons and I’m in every nursery, 365 days a year.

Back in 2010, I saw a job advert for a Zebra Super Safety Hero – I was very excited, applied and was invited for an interview with several other zebras. We were interviewed by all the children who then voted on which of us would be their Super Safety Hero. It was hoof biting but I was thrilled when they told me I was the most voted for by the children who all loved me because of my cape and bag. My bag is very special, if something fits inside, it’s a choking hazard. You might be wondering how I got my name. The children in our nurseries chose five names and voted for their favourite. I love it as it’s unique, I mean have you ever heard of a zebra called Candy Floss? Exactly!

Why Bright Horizons

The Bright Horizons passion and enthusiasm for providing high-quality care isn’t just common knowledge within our own business – we’ve also gained some impressive accolades from external sources for excellence as both a childcare provider, and as an employer. We are the only childcare company to have been listed for the last 11 years as one of the country’s top 50 “Great Places to Work” by the Great Place to Work Institute.
