Welcome to our warm and welcoming nursery in Birmingham

Welcome to our warm and welcoming nursery in Birmingham Our nursery setting is open Monday to Friday from 07:30 to 18:00, for children aged 3 months to 5 years.

Our highly qualified team have helped us to secure a Good Ofsted rating in our latest inspection. We offer a warm, welcoming environment supporting the transition from home to nursery fully inclusive of nappies, wipes and milk and we provide excellent nutritionally-balanced menus using fresh ingredients prepared by our own chef. The large outdoor area with an herb and vegetable garden allows children to explore the world around, we have two outdoor areas one of which is for our pre-school children.

We have a lovely mud area that has been extended for children to explore. We have links with the local community by taking the children to the library, care home and local parks and shops. We offer out of school clubs for siblings to attend with great parent partnerships where there are ample opportunities for parents to come in to nursery and work with us.

Our friendly, experienced and highly qualified staff are on hand to conduct a personal nursery tour at a time to suit you.

Sarah Simmonds

I have always known since a young age I wanted to work with children and I began my training at 16 years old and qualified at 18 years old, working with children for 13 years.

Over the years I have worked in many different positions of trust. In my early days I worked in the rooms as a key person, I loved being silly with the children, dancing holding puppet shows and of course making mess.

I then worked my way from a key person to head of room then onto a deputy manager and then onto the manager role. Over the years I have worked in different environments from nurseries to running parental groups in schools.

My vast experience has seen me meet many amazing children and wonderful families. I love to watch a child grow from their first day where it may be filled with lots of tears to watching them grow into becoming confident, independent mini adults with lots of character. I have a real passion for my job and believe all children have the right to be children, have fun, stay safe and grow and learn following their passions in life.

Sophie Williams

My name is Sophie and I have been with Bright Horizons since December 2017. Within 9 months I have thrived and became Room Leader within the preschool room, I was then training for my role as Third in Charge. I have recently been promoted to the position of Deputy manager of the Nursery at the end of 2018 and Bright Horizons have helped me to develop the skills needed to go with this position.

Bright Horizons have provided me with lots of training and filled me with confidence for all of my roles and I feel the appreciation from the company for all of the hard work that I provide. I feel that all staff who are welcomed into the company are given the correct training that they need in order to thrive within their positions within the settings.

Candy Floss

Hi, my name is Candy Floss, I joined Bright Horizons in March 2010 as the ‘Super Safety Hero’ to help nursery children stay safe and manage risks. My role as a Health and Safety Super Hero is unique to Bright Horizons and I’m in every nursery, 365 days a year.

Back in 2010, I saw a job advert for a Zebra Super Safety Hero – I was very excited, applied and was invited for an interview with several other zebras. We were interviewed by all the children who then voted on which of us would be their Super Safety Hero. It was hoof biting but I was thrilled when they told me I was the most voted for by the children who all loved me because of my cape and bag. My bag is very special, if something fits inside, it’s a choking hazard. You might be wondering how I got my name. The children in our nurseries chose five names and voted for their favourite. I love it as it’s unique, I mean have you ever heard of a zebra called Candy Floss? Exactly!

Why Bright Horizons
