Learn and Flourish at Our Leeds Nursery

Welcome to Moortown Day Nursery and Preschool where children aged 3 months to 5 years enjoy happy days filled with learning and friendship.

Inspiring Areas for All Ages

In our under 2s room, your little one will have fun exploring our wide range of sensory and stimulating activities. They will also be supported with their emotional, social and personal development in a warm and nurturing environment.

In our bright 2 to 3s room, your child will be focusing on developing their communication and language skills through stories and rhymes, and lots of other fun and engaging activities.

Preschoolers love their room and will feel confident to start school as they take part in our Ready for School Programme learning the essential skills for them to take their next steps and taught by our own qualified preschool teacher.

A Bright Beginning for Every Child

Your little one will get the best start to their schooling life through our enriching and wellbeing-focused Bright Beginnings Curriculum, designed by our own Early Years specialists.

Building on the foundations of the government's EYFS curriculum, it combines a wide range of activities to nurture and develop the skills your child needs to flourish and reach their full potential. This holistic yet personal approach supports each child's wellbeing, development, and progress – whether that's moving rooms or preparing them for school.

You can stay updated with your child's day through our Bright Horizons Family app.

Enjoying the Great Outdoors

We're fortunate to benefit from a large garden area, which is divided into separate spaces for each of our age groups. Each space is filled with activities and resources to aid your child's development and enable them to learn and have fun outdoors.

Your preschooler will love playing in their own dedicated garden space. With a secret hideaway den, a planting area for gardening, lots of play equipment and exciting areas to discover, our preschool garden offers endless enjoyment.

Meet the Team

Moortown Day Nursery and Preschool Manager

Rachel Finan

My name is Rachel Finan and I am the Nursery Manager at Bright Horizons Moortown. I have worked here at Moortown since September 2019, however, I have previously worked for Bright Horizons before.

I am a qualified Early Years Teacher and have previous experience managing a Local Authority setting, as well as setting up a Private Day Nursery. I have over 15 Years experience in Early Years, and I won the 'Early Years Professional of the Year' award in 2013 when previously working for Bright Horizons.

My passion for Early Years comes from watching the children we care for grow and develop in a quality and nurturing Early Years setting.

As a mother myself I understand the Importance of high quality provision. I truly love working with children and families; being able to share all the wonderful milestones children achieve on a daily basis!

Bright Horizons Moortown Andy

Andrew Nunns

My name is Andy Nunns and I am the Deputy Manager at Bright Horizons Moortown. I have worked here for 13 years and I have over 19 years experience in Early Years.

I started at Moortown as a Nursery assistant and over the years have built on my experiences to become a Deputy Manager.

Working in Early Years is extremely rewarding to me, and as a parent myself I understand the importance of good childcare provision.

I aim to ensure children have the best experience every day that they come to my nursery.

Candy Floss

Candy Floss

Hi, my name is Candy Floss, I joined Bright Horizons in March 2010 as the ‘Super Safety Hero’ to help nursery children stay safe and manage risks. My role as a Health and Safety Super Hero is unique to Bright Horizons and I’m in every nursery, 365 days a year.

Back in 2010, I saw a job advert for a Zebra Super Safety Hero – I was very excited, applied and was invited for an interview with several other zebras. We were interviewed by all the children who then voted on which of us would be their Super Safety Hero. It was hoof biting but I was thrilled when they told me I was the most voted for by the children who all loved me because of my cape and bag. My bag is very special, if something fits inside, it’s a choking hazard. You might be wondering how I got my name. The children in our nurseries chose five names and voted for their favourite. I love it as it’s unique, I mean have you ever heard of a zebra called Candy Floss? Exactly!

Why Bright Horizons

The Bright Horizons passion and enthusiasm for providing high-quality care isn’t just common knowledge within our own business – we’ve also gained some impressive accolades from external sources for excellence as both a childcare provider, and as an employer. We are the only childcare company to have been listed for the last 11 years as one of the country’s top 50 “Great Places to Work” by the Great Place to Work Institute.
