A place to grow

Bright Horizons Leeds Day Nursery and Preschool is situated close to the city centre with great public transport links and we are a well-established nursery within the local community.

Our long standing staff team provide a range of carefully planned activities from quiet story time to role play, messy activities, singing and outdoor learning. Our team is further strengthened by an Early Years Professional.

We have a private and spacious outdoor area, and we are proud to have an allotment, a shaded reading area with a playhouse and sensory garden. Our excellent nutritionally balanced menu is produced by our experienced chef who has high standards and is passionate in his role.

Our fees include all meals and snacks, nappies, nappy cream, bottles and baby formula. We also make drop off and picks ups as safe as possible with our convenient parent parking at the rear of the nursery.

Fiona Stewart

I have been working in childcare for over 25 years, in various child care settings. I worked within the community as an outreach worker and set up and established a Children's Centre for the Children'sSociety. I joined Leeds Nursery in September 2006 as Nursery Manager.

My inspiration comes from the children and families we serve. Having the privilege to spend time with little people who have a thirst for exploring, experimenting, challenging themselves is my passion. We have a warm and welcoming family feel to the nursery which is nurtured in the relationships we share with our families.

I joined Leeds Day Nursery and Preschool in 2006 as a Nursery Nurse, before becoming a Room Leader and then progressiong to  Deputy Manager. I am also the nursery SENCO and Health and Safety Rep.

The sense of being part of a child’s development gives me such great self-worth. I realised very early that working in childcare is something I can turn into a fulfilling career.

Candy Floss

Hi, my name is Candy Floss, I joined Bright Horizons in March 2010 as the ‘Super Safety Hero’ to help nursery children stay safe and manage risks. My role as a Health and Safety Super Hero is unique to Bright Horizons and I’m in every nursery, 365 days a year.

Back in 2010, I saw a job advert for a Zebra Super Safety Hero – I was very excited, applied and was invited for an interview with several other zebras. We were interviewed by all the children who then voted on which of us would be their Super Safety Hero. It was hoof biting but I was thrilled when they told me I was the most voted for by the children who all loved me because of my cape and bag. My bag is very special, if something fits inside, it’s a choking hazard. You might be wondering how I got my name. The children in our nurseries chose five names and voted for their favourite. I love it as it’s unique, I mean have you ever heard of a zebra called Candy Floss? Exactly!

Why Bright Horizons

The Bright Horizons passion and enthusiasm for providing high-quality care isn’t just common knowledge within our own business – we’ve also gained some impressive accolades from external sources for excellence as both a childcare provider, and as an employer. We are the only childcare company to have been listed for the last 11 years as one of the country’s top 50 “Great Places to Work” by the Great Place to Work Institute.
