A place to grow

Tingley Day Nursery and Preschool (formerly West Lea Park Day Nursery & Pre-School), which provides childcare services for children aged 3 months to 5 years, is situated in Tingley, close to Leeds, Wakefield and Morley. Our all-inclusive offering now includes all meals, wipes, nappies and creams for children.

We provide a friendly and welcoming feel to ensure the children feel safe and secure whilst in the care of our highly qualified staff team. The children learn and develop through the stimulating activities provided which offer a wide range of learning opportunities.

We have five spacious play rooms within the setting, the low-level furniture allows the children unrestricted access to our wide range of play resources and activities, and the play rooms are structured in such a way as to promote each child's independence, along with their decision-making and problem-solving skills. Each child’s key person builds strong bonds with their key children following their individual care routine and providing for their holistic needs.

The day nursery also provides support to children with special needs and liaises with external agencies to ensure appropriate support is given.

Our friendly, experienced and highly qualified staff are on hand to conduct a personal nursery tour at a time to suit you.

Meet the Team

Bright Horizons Tingley Manager Katy

Katy Wormald

Childcare has always been my passion, I have worked in Childcare since I left school. I have worked for Bright Horizons since 2010 working my way from Room supervisor to Nursery Manager.

In 2020, I became a mother for the 1st time. He also attends the nursery and has settled well into the nursery life. The staff team have made settling him into nursery so much easier ensuring they meet his individual care needs.

My passion for working in Early years comes from been able to watch the children we care for on their learning journey throughout the nursery.

I am always eager to develop my knowledge and attend courses throughout the year to be able to give the children at Tingley Day Nursery the best possibly start on their journey of learning.

I am dedicated in leading the nursery team with Katy, to provide outstanding childcare and education for all our children and families.

Candy Floss

Candy Floss

Hi, my name is Candy Floss, I joined Bright Horizons in March 2010 as the ‘Super Safety Hero’ to help nursery children stay safe and manage risks. My role as a Health and Safety Super Hero is unique to Bright Horizons and I’m in every nursery, 365 days a year.

Back in 2010, I saw a job advert for a Zebra Super Safety Hero – I was very excited, applied and was invited for an interview with several other zebras. We were interviewed by all the children who then voted on which of us would be their Super Safety Hero. It was hoof biting but I was thrilled when they told me I was the most voted for by the children who all loved me because of my cape and bag. My bag is very special, if something fits inside, it’s a choking hazard. You might be wondering how I got my name. The children in our nurseries chose five names and voted for their favourite. I love it as it’s unique, I mean have you ever heard of a zebra called Candy Floss? Exactly!

Why Bright Horizons

The Bright Horizons passion and enthusiasm for providing high-quality care isn’t just common knowledge within our own business – we’ve also gained some impressive accolades from external sources for excellence as both a childcare provider, and as an employer. We are the only childcare company to have been listed for the last 11 years as one of the country’s top 50 “Great Places to Work” by the Great Place to Work Institute.
