Exploration and Learning at our Nursery in Staffordshire

Welcome to Milford Day Nursery and Preschool, where our experienced practitioners are dedicated to the care and education of children aged 3 months to 5 years. Your child will love spending their days in our Ofsted rated Good nursery surrounded by beautiful fields and farmland.

An Enriching Environment for all Ages

You’ll feel at ease as your little one transitions from home to nursery life in our lovely setting, run by nurturing staff and based in a beautiful converted Victorian school.

Each of our rooms is specially equipped for different age groups, ensuring your child always has the best resources for their age and development. Their learning experiences will be enriched with our Growing Enhancements programme, which helps them develop key skills in areas including reading, writing, maths, science, and art.

Children also enjoy Boogie Mites active music-making sessions, with their exciting opportunities to learn through music and song.

Getting Ready for Their Next Steps

To ensure your little learner is ready to start school, the room sizes increase with age, helping your child to adjust to a larger classroom setting. Preschoolers take part in our Ready for School programme, which introduces a new structure and focus to their learning, maths, reading, writing and other essential skills they need to get ready for school.

Be a Part of Their Journey

We work alongside you and involve you in your child’s planning and daily routines, as well as including you in our monthly play and stay sessions.

Fresh Air and Outdoor Adventures

Each age group has access to their own garden, which your little one can enjoy in all weathers. From toddle bikes and climbing equipment to outdoor learning areas and toys, there’s so much for your child to discover.

All-Inclusive Care and Convenience

  • ● Tasty, nutritionally balanced meals are prepared daily, catering to dietary requirements as far as possible. Our all-inclusive care extends to snacks, formula, nappies, wipes, and creams, so there’s less to organise on those busy mornings.
  •
  • ● Our nursery in Staffordshire is located on the main road and is close to Stafford train station, making us a convenient location for commuting parents.
  •
  • ● Located within the catchment of many schools including Berkswich, Oakridge, and Leasowes Primary Schools.

Meet the Team

Rebecca McHale

I have worked at Milford Day Nursery since 2004 when I started as a Nursery Nurse; I worked my way up to Nursery Manager in 2012. I hold a certificate in Early Years practice and love every minute I am at work supporting and caring for all of our families. I have my own son who I love spending time with and watching him grow.

Abigail Beesley

My name is Abigail but most people know me as Abiy.

I started working for the company in 2003 as a Nursery Nurse and I went on to have my daughter and returned to Nursery part time for a short while.

I then worked my way into a room leader position before successfully gaining a full time position as Deputy Manager and achieving a degree in Early Years Childhood studies.

I have been a part of the team here at Milford for eight years now, and have fulfilled many different roles during this time. I have worked my way up from a nursery nurse to my current position of Deputy Manager, gaining lots of valuable experience along the way.

I thoroughly enjoy working to support all our families and children at the nursery and love how no two days are ever the same in childcare.

I have a little girl of my own who I absolutely adore and we enjoy lots of traveling in our spare time.

Candy Floss

Candy Floss

Hi, my name is Candy Floss, I joined Bright Horizons in March 2010 as the ‘Super Safety Hero’ to help nursery children stay safe and manage risks. My role as a Health and Safety Super Hero is unique to Bright Horizons and I’m in every nursery, 365 days a year.

Back in 2010, I saw a job advert for a Zebra Super Safety Hero – I was very excited, applied and was invited for an interview with several other zebras. We were interviewed by all the children who then voted on which of us would be their Super Safety Hero. It was hoof biting but I was thrilled when they told me I was the most voted for by the children who all loved me because of my cape and bag. My bag is very special, if something fits inside, it’s a choking hazard. You might be wondering how I got my name. The children in our nurseries chose five names and voted for their favourite. I love it as it’s unique, I mean have you ever heard of a zebra called Candy Floss? Exactly!

Why Bright Horizons

The Bright Horizons passion and enthusiasm for providing high-quality care isn’t just common knowledge within our own business – we’ve also gained some impressive accolades from external sources for excellence as both a childcare provider, and as an employer. We are the only childcare company to have been listed for the last 11 years as one of the country’s top 50 “Great Places to Work” by the Great Place to Work Institute.
