Meet the Team

RBS Gorgarburn Day Nursery and Preschool Manager

Pauline Cant

I have worked with Bright Horizons over the last five years in different roles from Nursery Manager of our Cramond Nursery to Field Manager. I qualified as a Nursery Nurse way back in 1988 and when I qualified I worked for many years as a nanny in the UK, Saudi Arabia, Australia and New Zealand before returning to the UK to work in nursery settings. I have a Degree in Childhood Practice which I completed in 2013.

I am passionate about childcare and supporting our children, families and work colleagues. I can usually be found with a book in my hand and one of my favourite things is to see the wonder on a child’s face when they are fully immersed in a favourite story. I believe children learn best through play and here at Gogarburn nursery we have rich learning environments including spacious gardens and grounds where our children can explore the natural environment in a meaningful way. I am proud to be a part of the Bright Horizons Family

RBS Gorgarburn Day Nursery and Preschool Deputy Manager

Paige Nichols

My passion has always been to work in childcare. I volunteered at my local nursery while I was still at school, then worked my way up in a private nursery from Apprentice to Room Leader, and then Lead Practitioner. I joined Bright Horizons in January 2019 as Lead Practitioner and was promoted to Deputy Manager within my first year. Since starting my childcare career in 2013 I have completed my SVQ 3 in Children and Young People, HND in Childhood Practice and now plan to go on to study my BA in Childhood Practice. I have a very rewarding job and am thrilled I get to experience the changes in our children as they grow and develop.

Candy Floss

Candy Floss

Hi, my name is Candy Floss, I joined Bright Horizons in March 2010 as the ‘Super Safety Hero’ to help nursery children stay safe and manage risks. My role as a Health and Safety Super Hero is unique to Bright Horizons and I’m in every nursery, 365 days a year.

Back in 2010, I saw a job advert for a Zebra Super Safety Hero – I was very excited, applied and was invited for an interview with several other zebras. We were interviewed by all the children who then voted on which of us would be their Super Safety Hero. It was hoof biting but I was thrilled when they told me I was the most voted for by the children who all loved me because of my cape and bag. My bag is very special, if something fits inside, it’s a choking hazard. You might be wondering how I got my name. The children in our nurseries chose five names and voted for their favourite. I love it as it’s unique, I mean have you ever heard of a zebra called Candy Floss? Exactly!
