A place to grow

Springfields Day Nursery & Pre-School in Lichfield is rated 'Outstanding' by OFSTED and has recently been named as a top 10 nursery in the West Midlands by daynurseries.co.uk.

The day nursery, established since 1989 has 134 places for children aged 3 months to 5 years. Springfields has the outlook of a Victorian building, however behind this facade, there is a beautiful, purpose-built nursery that provides children with premium quality care in a loving and caring environment. The children are organised into five groups and each child has a key person who ensures that their care is tailored to their needs and interests and that those needs are met fully during their time with us.

Our outdoor environment at Springfields is divided into two areas designed to support different age groups. This provides lots of space and opportunities for children to explore. The open and friendly environment that we are known for is driven by highly qualified, highly experienced, long standing members of staff who have a wealth of knowledge and enthusiasm when caring for our children. We have a wide variety of extracurricular activities at Springfields, including ballet, tennis and French language lessons. There are many opportunities for partnership with parents through parents' evenings, special events and regular 'stay and play' sessions.

Our policies and procedures, including our unique settling in sessions, are designed to give parents confidence in the safe and stimulating environment that we provide. The nursery is within catchment of many local schools, including Chadsmead, Christchurch, St Michaels, St Josephs, St Peter’s and Paul's, Charnwood, Willows, St Chad’s, Scotch Orchard. Our nearest private school is Lichfield Cathedral School. We will be delighted to welcome you to Springfields Pre-School & Day Nursery.

Our friendly, experienced and highly qualified staff are on hand to conduct a personal nursery tour at a time to suit you. *Please note free funded places for 3-4-year-olds are limited and subject to availability. Please contact the nursery manager for more information.

Helen Marquise

Helen joined Springfields Nursery in 1992 as a student whilst completing National B-Tec, gaining a full-time position in June 1994 as Nursery Nurse. After a year she left for 8 months to become a Nanny and gain experience in a different job role, however, decided that Springfields and Nursery Nursing was what she wanted to do. Helen came back to Springfields in October 1995 and worked her way up, becoming Nursery Manager in 2001.

Sam Badger

Sam began her career with Asquith as a member of our cover/supply team in 2008. Her talent for childcare was quickly identified and she was employed as a full-time nursery nurse shortly after starting. Sam settled in very quickly and worked her way up the ladder from Room Leader to Assistant Manager. During her first few months employed at Springfields, Sam has successfully achieved her Early Years Professional Status.

Candy Floss

Hi, my name is Candy Floss, I joined Bright Horizons in March 2010 as the ‘Super Safety Hero’ to help nursery children stay safe and manage risks. My role as a Health and Safety Super Hero is unique to Bright Horizons and I’m in every nursery, 365 days a year.

Back in 2010, I saw a job advert for a Zebra Super Safety Hero – I was very excited, applied and was invited for an interview with several other zebras. We were interviewed by all the children who then voted on which of us would be their Super Safety Hero. It was hoof biting but I was thrilled when they told me I was the most voted for by the children who all loved me because of my cape and bag. My bag is very special, if something fits inside, it’s a choking hazard. You might be wondering how I got my name. The children in our nurseries chose five names and voted for their favourite. I love it as it’s unique, I mean have you ever heard of a zebra called Candy Floss? Exactly!
