Talbot Woods Day Nursery and Preschool

Welcome to our Bright Horizons Talbot Woods Day Nursery and Preschool, a purpose-built nursey set in the grounds of Bournemouth University. Our nursery features four separate free flow gardens, where children can explore with confidence. Here, they can observe the growth of vegetables and plants, as well as enjoy nature during our Forest School sessions. 

Throughout our age-focused rooms, we provide the best start to schooling life through our enriching and wellbeing-focused Bright Beginnings Curriculum, designed by our own Early Years specialists. This holistic yet personal approach supports each child's wellbeing, development, and progress, whether that involves transitioning between rooms or preparing for school. 

The calming baby rooms provide a cosy and enjoyable space, where we follow your baby's individual routine from home to make their transition smooth and have an adjoining garden. 

In the toddler rooms, children engage in singing, dancing, and play to explore and develop their spatial awareness, with designated areas for role-play and reading. Both rooms with their own gardens.

Our preschool program focuses on guiding and teaching essential skills they need to prepare them for school and in their learning room, preschool children can focus on small group activities and ICT skills. For older children, Ready for School programme brings structure and focus to maths, reading, writing, and other necessary skills for a confident school. With their own outdoor space to explore.

Our separate sleep room ensures a peaceful space for your child to recharge, and our sensory room is perfect for quiet exploration. In addition, we offer Boogie Mites an interactive music and movement session, which is loved by children of all ages and provides exciting opportunities to learn about the world through music and song.

And while your child is busy exploring and having fun, we can keep you updated via our Family app. Available for all Bright Horizons parents, this will keep you connected with your child's day-to-day experiences and up to date as they develop during their time with us.

For any new family joining we are pleased to be able to offer Settling in Sessions which are tailored to suit you and your family. We usually offer two free sessions, but happy to increase this depending on the child.

Directions: Our nursery is located on the Ground Floor of Talbot House on Talbot Campus. Go through the main entrance and the courtyard to the nursery passing through the double doors.
