Meet the Team

Karen Bell

I have been working in childcare for 32 years and with Bright Horizons since 2009, prior to this I have been a tutor/assessor and lecturer in childcare and education, hydrotherapy teacher for children with additional support needs and a nursery practitioner. I hold the following qualifications, NNEB (National Nursery Examination Board), DPQS (Diploma in Post Qualifying Studies for Nursery Nurses), FAETC (Further Adult Education Teaching Certificate), D32/33 (Assessor Awards), PDA Level 8 (Professional Development Award in Childhood Practice) and am currently studying for my Bachelor of Arts in Childhood Practice at university. I have a son who is 12 years old who is my inspiration. I enjoy walking, running, DIY and spending time with friends and enjoy good food.

Sarah Woods

I have worked in the Early Learning and Childcare field for 22 Years and am still amazed each and every day at how the children in our care develop into the people they become. It is an honour to be part of their young lives and play a small part in the children’s and their families lives.

I qualified first with my SNNEB and from college have developed to a position with Leadership responsibilities within Bright Horizons as Deputy Manager,  I achieved my SVQ 4 in 2013 and am currently working towards my BA in Childhood Practice with Dundee University .

I have worked for Bright Horizons for nearly 9 years, previously working in another early years private nursery since qualifying. I am passionate about supporting our staff team in providing a respectful and nurturing environment for all children, ensuring that their individual needs and qualities are respected and nurtured. I am proud to be part of a team who consistently achieve exceptional outcomes in inspections and excellent feedback from families.   I am committed to continuous Professional Development to strive to be the best I can be so that we can provide high quality care and learning. My own son, who is at school now, attended Bright Horizons at Livingston from a very young age and still talks fondly of his time at nursery.

Why Bright Horizons
