Request a call backI began working in childcare in 2008, since then I have had experience in a variety of roles in the sector. I have a level 3 BTEC in children’s play learning and development and a BA Hons in Early Years.
I have a true drive and passion to deliver excellence to children who attend my setting and support my staff team to provide this on a daily basis. I really believe every child is entitled to the highest standard of education and care in their early years and our work really makes a difference to each and every one of them.
I joined Bright Horizons Lancaster in May 2018 and have really enjoyed my time here so far, getting to know the staff team and the families who access our setting.
In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family and friends.
I have worked in Early years Education for 20 years, in nurseries, pre schools and also teaching childcare within colleges.
I love being a part of a happy team and working with families to provide the best possible care and learning experiences.
My passions are supporting a team, outdoor education and creating new and enchanting play based activities.
Hi, my name is Candy Floss, I joined Bright Horizons in March 2010 as the ‘Super Safety Hero’ to help nursery children stay safe and manage risks. My role as a Health and Safety Super Hero is unique to Bright Horizons and I’m in every nursery, 365 days a year.
Back in 2010, I saw a job advert for a Zebra Super Safety Hero – I was very excited, applied and was invited for an interview with several other zebras. We were interviewed by all the children who then voted on which of us would be their Super Safety Hero. It was hoof biting but I was thrilled when they told me I was the most voted for by the children who all loved me because of my cape and bag. My bag is very special, if something fits inside, it’s a choking hazard. You might be wondering how I got my name. The children in our nurseries chose five names and voted for their favourite. I love it as it’s unique, I mean have you ever heard of a zebra called Candy Floss? Exactly!
The Bright Horizons passion and enthusiasm for providing high-quality care isn’t just common knowledge within our own business – we’ve also gained some impressive accolades from external sources for excellence as both a childcare provider, and as an employer. We are the only childcare company to have been listed for the last 11 years as one of the country’s top 50 “Great Places to Work” by the Great Place to Work Institute.
