Meet the Team

Leanne Jackson

I gained my NNEB diploma just over 18 years’ ago and following this my work history has only ever been within the childcare industry. I’ve been a nanny, worked within nurseries, schools, crèches, and was even fortunate to be able to travel for three years and experience different cultures.
I’ve always known I wanted to work with children, and as my career path has only ever been in this, I know it has been the perfect choice for me. I really do enjoy what I do. I strive for perfection, and firmly believe that high standards can only be achieved by the standards you set and lead your team to follow.
I’ve been with Bright Horizons for twelve years, and it is the longest period of time that I have ever wanted to stay with an employer! This company had me captured with its different style, professionalism, and approach to learning and mainly for their vision. I was first appointed as unit co-ordinator working within the nursery classes in 2003, and with a team of only eight back then, we began to make those visions come to life.
Now with a team that’s nearly tripled in size, here we all are proud to be part of an amazing and well established nursery.

I left college with my NNEB certificate twenty four years ago and in this time I have worked as a Nanny, Childminder and Playgroup leader before eventually joining Bright Horizons as a Nursery Nurse working in our Barrow nursery for the past 12 years.

In this time I became a room supervisor and eventually deputy manager. I can honestly say I have enjoyed my time with my Bright Horizons family and have helped children grow from tiny babies and toddlers to preschoolers getting ready for their transition to school and take great pride in seeing confident happy children leaving my care knowing we have helped to achieve this.

As well as working alongside Leanne as part of the management team, I involve myself in the day to day life in the rooms and spend time with the children daily. I am always available for the staff offering guidance, helping with their training and development needs or just someone to turn to when needed.

I am also a busy working parent and I understand the trials and tribulations of bringing up children and want to work together with parents to provide the best quality care for your child I can.

Candy Floss

Hi, my name is Candy Floss, I joined Bright Horizons in March 2010 as the ‘Super Safety Hero’ to help nursery children stay safe and manage risks. My role as a Health and Safety Super Hero is unique to Bright Horizons and I’m in every nursery, 365 days a year.

Back in 2010, I saw a job advert for a Zebra Super Safety Hero – I was very excited, applied and was invited for an interview with several other zebras. We were interviewed by all the children who then voted on which of us would be their Super Safety Hero. It was hoof biting but I was thrilled when they told me I was the most voted for by the children who all loved me because of my cape and bag. My bag is very special, if something fits inside, it’s a choking hazard. You might be wondering how I got my name. The children in our nurseries chose five names and voted for their favourite. I love it as it’s unique, I mean have you ever heard of a zebra called Candy Floss? Exactly!
