Asquith Milford Pre-School & Day Nursery

Why Children Love Us

A place to grow

Our Milford children's day nursery near Stafford has a warm, homely environment. Rated 'Outstanding' by Ofsted, we're based in a lovely converted Victorian school, brightly refurbished and surrounded by fields, farms and animals in Walton on the Hill on the outskirts of Stafford. We have also been named as a top 10 nursery in the West Midlands by daynurseries.co.uk.

You'll find us on one of the main roads into Stafford with a local bus route outside. We have ten longstanding staff who lead a highly qualified, friendly team that are an asset to Asquith.

All age groups have their own rooms and outdoor play areas to enable maximum development with peers. We work alongside parents and carers to ensure you feel comfortable leaving your child with us.

We involve parents in their children’s planning and daily routines, by holding play and stay sessions once a month. We also hold parents' evenings twice a year and special events such as Autumn fairs, Christmas plays and Workshops for parents.

The nursery environment is rich in resources for all age ranges, the room sizes increase as the age ranges increase which ensures children are then ready for large classes at school.

All rooms have Community Playthings furniture and toys which provide the children with a more neutral environment to learn in.

In addition, the nursery takes part in outings to local places including the Shirehall sensory room, local libraries, farms and parks. Our stunning new adventure garden is available to children in all weathers to support their educational and physical development.

We are located within the catchment of many schools which include Berkswich Primary School, Oakridge Primary School and Leosowes Primary School.

We will be delighted to welcome you to Milford Pre-School & Day Nursery. Our friendly, experienced and highly qualified staff are on hand to conduct a personal nursery tour at a time to suit you.

*Please note free funded places for 3-4-year-olds are limited and subject to availability. Please contact the nursery manager for more information.

Candy Floss

Hi, my name is Candy Floss, I joined Bright Horizons in March 2010 as the ‘Super Safety Hero’ to help nursery children stay safe and manage risks. My role as a Health and Safety Super Hero is unique to Bright Horizons and I’m in every nursery, 365 days a year.

Back in 2010, I saw a job advert for a Zebra Super Safety Hero – I was very excited, applied and was invited for an interview with several other zebras. We were interviewed by all the children who then voted on which of us would be their Super Safety Hero. It was hoof biting but I was thrilled when they told me I was the most voted for by the children who all loved me because of my cape and bag. My bag is very special, if something fits inside, it’s a choking hazard. You might be wondering how I got my name. The children in our nurseries chose five names and voted for their favourite. I love it as it’s unique, I mean have you ever heard of a zebra called Candy Floss? Exactly!
