A place to grow

44 St. Swithin Early Learning and Childcare provides care and education for children aged 3 months to 5 years.

We offer a warm, welcoming environment supporting the transition from home to nursery. The nursery features an outdoor learning area for your child to extend their learning in an outdoor environment.

To support your child's transition to school, we have a dedicated preschool teacher within the preschool room as well as a French teacher who visits the preschool on a regular basis.

Meet the Team

Name of person

Vicky Bowman

I have been working at 44 St Swithin since 2005 and completed my Children's Care Learning and Development Level 4 Qualification in 2009. I am really passionate about childcare and strive to make the nursery a fantastic environment for the children in our care, parents and carers alike. It is also a priority to ensure there is a positive atmosphere within the nursery for the staff to work in. It is a real joy coming to the nursery and getting to know the parents, children and staff. It is a pleasure to watch the children grow into independent individuals as they prepare for their next steps to school.

Name of person

Kenzie Campbell

I joined 44 St. Swithin nursery in 2012 and am currently studying towards SVQ Level 4 in Childcare. Alongside my role as Lead Practitioner, I am also the room leader of the infant department. I am passionate about childcare and am looking forward to further developing my learning and development with Bright Horizons. It is my utmost priority to ensure the care and safety of the children, parents and staff within the nursery which is a foundation within our everyday management.

Name of person

Candy Floss

Hi, my name is Candy Floss, I joined Bright Horizons in March 2010 as the ‘Super Safety Hero’ to help nursery children stay safe and manage risks. My role as a Health and Safety Super Hero is unique to Bright Horizons and I’m in every nursery, 365 days a year.

Back in 2010, I saw a job advert for a Zebra Super Safety Hero – I was very excited, applied and was invited for an interview with several other zebras. We were interviewed by all the children who then voted on which of us would be their Super Safety Hero. It was hoof biting but I was thrilled when they told me I was the most voted for by the children who all loved me because of my cape and bag. My bag is very special, if something fits inside, it’s a choking hazard. You might be wondering how I got my name. The children in our nurseries chose five names and voted for their favourite. I love it as it’s unique, I mean have you ever heard of a zebra called Candy Floss? Exactly!

Why Bright Horizons

The Bright Horizons passion and enthusiasm for providing high-quality care isn’t just common knowledge within our own business – we’ve also gained some impressive accolades from external sources for excellence as both a childcare provider, and as an employer. We are the only childcare company to have been listed for the last 11 years as one of the country’s top 50 “Great Places to Work” by the Great Place to Work Institute.
