Helen Stevenson

I started off my career training to be a children’s nurse back in 2000, I gained my qualification and started working at St Swithin in 2004. I have been working in childcare for the last 12 years. During this time I have worked with all three age groups and helped to open the second and third nursery.

I have grown with the nurseries and share all the knowledge that I have learnt with my colleagues. I  completed my CCLD Level 4 qualification in December 2009 and hope to progress on to do my PDA in the near future.

Sarah Day

I began my career in childcare in 2009 working as a support assistant in a private nursery, then in 2011 I went to college to complete the HNC in Early Education and Childcare. From there I joined Bright Horizons, and have progressed from Practitioner to Lead Practitioner over the past 6 years.

I am hoping to continue my development and undertake a Bachelor’s Degree in Education.

Candy Floss

Hi, my name is Candy Floss, I joined Bright Horizons in March 2010 as the ‘Super Safety Hero’ to help nursery children stay safe and manage risks. My role as a Health and Safety Super Hero is unique to Bright Horizons and I’m in every nursery, 365 days a year.

Back in 2010, I saw a job advert for a Zebra Super Safety Hero – I was very excited, applied and was invited for an interview with several other zebras. We were interviewed by all the children who then voted on which of us would be their Super Safety Hero. It was hoof biting but I was thrilled when they told me I was the most voted for by the children who all loved me because of my cape and bag. My bag is very special, if something fits inside, it’s a choking hazard. You might be wondering how I got my name. The children in our nurseries chose five names and voted for their favourite. I love it as it’s unique, I mean have you ever heard of a zebra called Candy Floss? Exactly!
