A place to grow

At Canterbury Day Nursery and Preschool, we have a light and spacious nursery, which provides an exciting, engaging, and friendly environment for children to develop to their full potential.

We have three spacious gardens for children to play and explore with water features, chalk and painting boards, low-level tree houses, cycle tracks and our very own gardening club. Spring Lane has a flexible settling in process that adapts to suit the individual needs of each family and we believe in good partnership with parents. Your child will have a key person who will nurture strong bonds, provide special attention and work with you to deliver the care you want for your child. We use the Early Years Foundation Stage (Government Framework) to promote and support Education, care and development in the early years.

Each room is filled with age-appropriate resources and equipment such as the state-of-the-art interactive whiteboard and touchscreen computer in the pre-school room. Nursery and Pre-School offer Daily 'Boogie Mites' sessions, which supports learning letters and sounds through music and movement. Babies and Toddlers enjoy sensory and heuristic play sessions in our beautiful community room. Our delicious, healthy and nutritious food is sourced from trusted suppliers and all our food is prepared and cooked by our very own chef with menus changing seasonally. Our kitchen holds a 5*EHO rating for food and hygiene.

Canterbury Day Nursery & Preschool is all inclusive for 0-2 years, now providing nappies, wipes, cream and milk.

We will be delighted to welcome you to Canterbury Day Nursery and Preschool. Our friendly, experienced and highly qualified staff are on hand to conduct a personal nursery tour at a time to suit you, so why not book a visit today?

Candy Floss

Hi, my name is Candy Floss, I joined Bright Horizons in March 2010 as the ‘Super Safety Hero’ to help nursery children stay safe and manage risks. My role as a Health and Safety Super Hero is unique to Bright Horizons and I’m in every nursery, 365 days a year.

Back in 2010, I saw a job advert for a Zebra Super Safety Hero – I was very excited, applied and was invited for an interview with several other zebras. We were interviewed by all the children who then voted on which of us would be their Super Safety Hero. It was hoof biting but I was thrilled when they told me I was the most voted for by the children who all loved me because of my cape and bag. My bag is very special, if something fits inside, it’s a choking hazard. You might be wondering how I got my name. The children in our nurseries chose five names and voted for their favourite. I love it as it’s unique, I mean have you ever heard of a zebra called Candy Floss? Exactly!

Why Bright Horizons

The Bright Horizons passion and enthusiasm for providing high-quality care isn’t just common knowledge within our own business – we’ve also gained some impressive accolades from external sources for excellence as both a childcare provider, and as an employer. We are the only childcare company to have been listed for the last 11 years as one of the country’s top 50 “Great Places to Work” by the Great Place to Work Institute.
