Meet the Team

Name of person

Rebecca Bourne

I have been the manager at Tassel Road Day Nursery since it opened in 2012. I started in childcare in 1988 after gaining my NNEB and originally worked as a Nursery Practitioner at Cherry Trees School before going onto senior positions in nurseries in Thetford and Norwich. I returned to work in Bury St Edmunds in 1997 at Mount Farm Day Nursery where I was employed as Deputy Manager becoming Nursery Manager in 2004. The team then changed premises to Tassel Road in 2005. I updated my childcare qualification in 2008 to a Level 4 in Childcare and Education.
I enjoy many aspects of childcare; my favourite part of the week is taking the preschool children swimming and enjoy spending time with them at lunch time. Seeing them progress from babies to preschool is fantastic.
I take pride in the fact that a number of the original team are still here and that we continue to welcome new families through our door by recommendation via previous and existing parents.

Louise Rayson

I have worked at Tassel Road Nursery since 2005.
I started working with children in 1999 as a modern apprentice and gained my level 2 in Childcare and Education and then went on to complete my Level 3 in Childcare in 2001. I started working with preschool aged children and moved into a deputy manager role in 2003.
In 2008, I qualified as a Level 4 practitioner, gaining my qualification through the Open University. I am also a qualified Accredited SENCO completing my training in 2008. This role involves supporting children who require additional support within the nursery. I am mainly based in the nursery office and support Rebecca with the day to day running of the nursery. I enjoy spending time in all areas of the nursery, especially with the babies. I am passionate about supporting children with SEND and ensuring they can thrive to the best of their abilities. I have two children of my own.

Name of person

Candy Floss

Hi, my name is Candy Floss, I joined Bright Horizons in March 2010 as the ‘Super Safety Hero’ to help nursery children stay safe and manage risks. My role as a Health and Safety Super Hero is unique to Bright Horizons and I’m in every nursery, 365 days a year.

Back in 2010, I saw a job advert for a Zebra Super Safety Hero – I was very excited, applied and was invited for an interview with several other zebras. We were interviewed by all the children who then voted on which of us would be their Super Safety Hero. It was hoof biting but I was thrilled when they told me I was the most voted for by the children who all loved me because of my cape and bag. My bag is very special, if something fits inside, it’s a choking hazard. You might be wondering how I got my name. The children in our nurseries chose five names and voted for their favourite. I love it as it’s unique, I mean have you ever heard of a zebra called Candy Floss? Exactly!
