Our spacious Bury St Edmunds Day Nursery and Preschool combines excellent facilities with caring, experienced staff to support your child’s development from the age of 3 months to 5 years.
Each light and airy room has an array of fun and educational resources to encourage curiosity and development. Children are inspired to learn through exploration and play, so babies discover new textures, sounds and sights with sensory play, and exciting music and movement sessions. Older children stretch their imagination in the role-play area, and employ critical thinking skills while playing with loose parts or constructing with building blocks.
All rooms at Bury St Edmunds nursery have freeflow access to our large multi-surfaced garden, giving children the option to enjoy nature at any time. Children love the wide-open space, balancing tyres and climbing frame. Younger children have a separate garden with soft flooring and a smaller climbing frame to help build their muscles and encourage their physical development.
Our unique Ready for School programme supports children in their transition to primary school. They learn the basics of early reading, writing and mathematics, alongside creative pursuits in our Creative Cooks and Growing Artists enhancements. We also teach children to self-serve at mealtimes, use cutlery, make friendships and work together. Our holistic approach to both academic and life skills helps children to develop confidence and interest in a wide range of areas.
Our nursery in Bury St Edmunds is located in a quiet residential area. We have a large car park for commuting parents, with easy access to the A14 and close links to the M33 bus route. All-inclusive fees mean you have less to pack on a busy morning, with all nutritious meals, snacks, nappies and wipes included in our fees.
Our long-standing team would love to meet you and your child, so book a visit with us today and we will show you all our nursery has to offer during your own personal tour.

I have been the manager at Tassel Road Day Nursery since it opened in 2012. I started in childcare in 1988 after gaining my NNEB and originally worked as a Nursery Practitioner at Cherry Trees School before going onto senior positions in nurseries in Thetford and Norwich. I returned to work in Bury St Edmunds in 1997 at Mount Farm Day Nursery where I was employed as Deputy Manager becoming Nursery Manager in 2004. The team then changed premises to Tassel Road in 2005. I updated my childcare qualification in 2008 to a Level 4 in Childcare and Education.
I enjoy many aspects of childcare; my favourite part of the week is taking the preschool children swimming and enjoy spending time with them at lunch time. Seeing them progress from babies to preschool is fantastic.
I take pride in the fact that a number of the original team are still here and that we continue to welcome new families through our door by recommendation via previous and existing parents.
I have worked at Tassel Road Nursery since 2005.
I started working with children in 1999 as a modern apprentice and gained my level 2 in Childcare and Education and then went on to complete my Level 3 in Childcare in 2001. I started working with preschool aged children and moved into a deputy manager role in 2003.
In 2008, I qualified as a Level 4 practitioner, gaining my qualification through the Open University. I am also a qualified Accredited SENCO completing my training in 2008. This role involves supporting children who require additional support within the nursery. I am mainly based in the nursery office and support Rebecca with the day to day running of the nursery. I enjoy spending time in all areas of the nursery, especially with the babies. I am passionate about supporting children with SEND and ensuring they can thrive to the best of their abilities. I have two children of my own.
