Bruntsfield Nursery and Preschool provides care and education for children aged 3 months to 5 years. We offer a warm, welcoming environment supporting the transition from home to nursery, and we provide excellent nutritionally-balanced menus using fresh ingredients prepared by our own chef.
During 2019 our nursery had a total refurbishment. The entire nursery was redecorated and we invested heavily in new resources to set up the children’s playrooms. New & improved environments were also created to include a bigger, new sensory play room for the children to discover
Located in the town centre, we are ideally situated for parents living in the local area, or commuting to Edinburgh as well as studying at the local university.
We are thrilled to announce the launch of the NEW Bright Horizons Family App. The app will offer a variety of features that will give you the ability to get more information on your child's day than ever before, as well as being able to notify the nursery of any changes to your planned pick-up or absences, as well as booking extra sessions.
Where possible we look to offer flexible booking patterns and a range of funding options, including the government's 30 hours funded childcare* provision. To request pricing and availability, please request a call back by clicking the button below.

I have been working in the childcare sector for 10 years since gaining my teaching qualification and I have worked in a manager’s role for the past 2 years since completing a Master’s degree in educational psychology. I also recently completed a forest school leader qualification.
I’m extremely enthusiastic and passionate about the care and development of children, and I believe that a good quality nursery and compassionate staff give children a positive start to their early education, which helps build confidence for a child to make new relationships.
I have worked in the childcare field for the past 29 years, the last 20 in nursery management. I’m a fully qualified nursery practitioner and I’m currently working towards my SVQ level 4 Social Services and young people management qualification. I have worked at Bright Horizons Bruntsfield for the past year and a half, supporting children and their families is at the centre of everything I do and I enjoy guiding and developing my staff team in our nursery's journey.
I have been working in childcare as an early years practitioner for the past 7 years , having gained my SVQ 3 Social Services and Young people. I have been working at Bright Horizons Bruntsfield for the past year and a half as the baby toddler room leader and haverecently become the nurseries third In charge. I enjoy working together with my team to support our children and families by creating an inclusive and nurturing environment.
The Bright Horizons passion and enthusiasm for providing high-quality care isn’t just common knowledge within our own business – we’ve also gained some impressive accolades from external sources for excellence as both a childcare provider, and as an employer. We are the only childcare company to have been listed for the last 11 years as one of the country’s top 50 “Great Places to Work” by the Great Place to Work Institute.
