I have been working in childcare for over 18 years after qualifying with an NNEB in Childcare and Education. Bright Horizons Bristol was my final placement while studying and. as a new nursery, they were looking for staff to join the team.
I started as bank staff while finishing my course and soon became a permanent member of the team. I then worked my way up from Nursery Nurse to Room Leader; then to Deputy Manager and from Deputy to Nursery Manager. I have always wanted to work in childcare and as part of a motivated team. This year I was promoted to Senior Nursery Manager which has enabled me to step out of my own nursery and support other local Bright Horizons Nurseries in a variety of capacities. I celebrated my 18th year of service with Bright Horizons Bristol in May 2018 and I am proud to be part of a great nursery.
In my spare time I enjoy shopping and eating out, visiting friends and spending time with my family and have 2 boys aged 10 ＆ 8 who are football crazy and keep me very busy. I also have 2 house bunnies called Kiki and Maisie who are adorable
I have been in childcare since qualifying with a BTEC ND in Early years in 2003. I previously worked for two companies in a range of settings (as Nursery Nurse, Room leader, Deputy and Manager) over Bristol.
I joined Bright Horizons in 2012 at Woodpeckers as the Baby Room Leader then was promoted to 3rd in Charge after about a year. I felt very quickly that Bright Horizons was a company who took time to value their staff with training to support their future goals. I was offered promotion to Deputy Manager at Bristol Bright Horizons (then Teddies Bristol) in 2014 and I have not looked back! I thoroughly enjoy my job where I get to support, motivate and train an established team.
I have just returned from maternity leave after having my first baby, Maisie, in February. I am really pleased that I am able to return to my job as well as adjusting my working pattern to allow time with my daughter. She is attending the nursery herself and seems to really love being here which, as a parent, gives me great piece of mind whilst I work.
