Our warm and nurturing Pentland Day Nursery and Preschool is part of the Pentland Brand Centre, open to both Pentland Brand employees and the local community. Every aspect, from our enriching activities to our carefully planned learning environments, is designed to support the development of your child from the age of 3 months to 5 years.

We know children learn best when they feel confident and comfortable, so our approach focuses on looking after their wellbeing first and foremost. In each age-appropriate room, we have designed a programme of activities to build on children’s knowledge and challenge them.

Sensory activities, such as oversized soft building blocks, stimulate your baby’s natural curiosity and allow them to develop their gross motor skills. In our Toddler Room, we help children build their vocabulary and independence. Preschoolers are introduced to early academics, regularly enjoy creative arts, such as painting and music, and learn to write their names in preparation for school.

Outside, children have space to enjoy a range of activities, from practising their coordination on balance beams and tyres, to reading in the cosy covered nook. There’s even an outdoor kitchen, a slide and tricycles.

Pentland nursery is conveniently located just a 10-minute walk from Finchley Central Station, and is well served by local bus routes. Our fees are all-inclusive, meaning all meals, snacks, nappies and wipes are included.

Our long-standing and experienced team would love to meet you and your child, so book a visit today and we will show you all our nursery has to offer during your own personal tour.

Candy Floss

Candy Floss

Hi, my name is Candy Floss, I joined Bright Horizons in March 2010 as the ‘Super Safety Hero’ to help nursery children stay safe and manage risks. My role as a Health and Safety Super Hero is unique to Bright Horizons and I’m in every nursery, 365 days a year.

Back in 2010, I saw a job advert for a Zebra Super Safety Hero – I was very excited, applied and was invited for an interview with several other zebras. We were interviewed by all the children who then voted on which of us would be their Super Safety Hero. It was hoof biting but I was thrilled when they told me I was the most voted for by the children who all loved me because of my cape and bag. My bag is very special, if something fits inside, it’s a choking hazard. You might be wondering how I got my name. The children in our nurseries chose five names and voted for their favourite. I love it as it’s unique, I mean have you ever heard of a zebra called Candy Floss? Exactly!
