Day Nursery & Preschool in East India Dock

Bright Horizons East India Dock Preschool

Why Children Love Us

A place to grow

East India Dock Day Nursery provides high-quality care and education for children aged 2-5 years, and is located in a secure residential area less than a minute's walk from East India DLR, with only a 20 minute walk to Canary Wharf.

Our experienced and friendly staff team welcome parents and children to our beautiful newly refurbished nursery, where our age-appropriate rooms have lots of natural light, lots of space and plenty of activities which allow children to explore and learn safely and at their own pace.

Bright Horizons Preschool nurseries focus on getting children Ready for School – we have a wide range of play and learning opportunities designed to encourage happy, confident children who are ready to embark on a lifelong journey of learning, including our Growing Programmes, a unique set of enhancements which focus on reading, writing, science, maths, physical activity and art. To complement our Growing programmes, children take part in Bilingual Beats sessions, learning Spanish and French – and we also have multilingual staff to support this. East India Dock Preschool children also enjoy weekly music sessions with visits from our Music Man.

We’re also very keen on keeping active and exploring the outdoors – East India Dock children can often be found in our two private free flow garden settings, as well as enjoying our local park and river-side excursions.

Meet the Team

Alexandra Keys

I have been with Bright Horizons since 2005 starting as a Nursery Assistant and now Nursery Manager. I started in Bright Horizons Hyde Park and then moved on to become Deputy Manager at Bright Horizons Regents Park. Since being promoted to Nursery Manager I have managed two outstanding nurseries at Bright Horizons Beckenham and Bright Horizons Wandsworth Common. I have been supporting the Canary Wharf nurseries since 2017, with the first posting at Canada Square and now at Heron Quays.

I have a NVQ Level 4 and Level 5 diploma in childcare and business  management.

Chanique Thomas

Hi my name is Chanique Thomas and I have been working as a Deputy Manager with Bright Horizons Heron Quays since August 2016. I have a Level 2 & 3 in Childcare, Level 2 in Team Leading and Level 3 in Management.  I have over 10 years’ experience with working with children and 1 year was spent working in Dubai which allowed me to gain a wide range of knowledge. I really enjoy working with children and hope to further my studies in childcare.

Candy Floss

Hi, my name is Candy Floss, I joined Bright Horizons in March 2010 as the ‘Super Safety Hero’ to help nursery children stay safe and manage risks. My role as a Health and Safety Super Hero is unique to Bright Horizons and I’m in every nursery, 365 days a year.

Back in 2010, I saw a job advert for a Zebra Super Safety Hero – I was very excited, applied and was invited for an interview with several other zebras. We were interviewed by all the children who then voted on which of us would be their Super Safety Hero. It was hoof biting but I was thrilled when they told me I was the most voted for by the children who all loved me because of my cape and bag. My bag is very special, if something fits inside, it’s a choking hazard. You might be wondering how I got my name. The children in our nurseries chose five names and voted for their favourite. I love it as it’s unique, I mean have you ever heard of a zebra called Candy Floss? Exactly!
