Children and educators from Bright Horizons at 44 St Swithin are set to take on an inspiring fundraising challenge this June, aiming to walk a total of 44 miles in support of the Bright Horizons Foundation for Children.
Throughout the month, the children will work together to reach the 44-mile target, tracking their progress and celebrating each milestone along the way.
Vicky, nursery manager at Bright Horizons at 44 St Swithin, said:
“Our children will be walking together and tracking their progress on a special chart so they can see just how far they’ve come. We’d really love the support of our local community as we raise money for Bright Spaces. Every donation, big or small, will help us make a difference. Thank you for supporting our little walkers.”
Funds raised will go towards Bright Spaces – safe, calming environments created by the Bright Horizons Foundation for Children to support vulnerable children and young people during challenging times.
The nursery is encouraging families and the wider community to support their efforts via their JustGiving page.
Alongside the fundraising initiative, Bright Horizons at 44 St Swithin and Bright Horizons at 24 St Swithin have recently introduced Rugby Tots as an extra-curricular activity for their preschoolers. The sessions, held on Friday afternoons at Harlaw playing fields, support children’s physical development, coordination and overall wellbeing through fun, structured play.
Helen, nursery manager at Bright Horizons at 24 St Swithin, said:
“These sessions are a great way to support early language development through new vocabulary, while encouraging important social skills such as teamwork, turn-taking and cooperation. It’s a really positive and active learning experience for the children.”
