Dear Families, 

As we move through the summer, I wanted to take a moment to share an update from across Bright Horizons and to thank you, as always, for the trust you place in us every day. 

Keeping children safe, well cared for and able to thrive remains our most important responsibility. Over recent months, our teams have continued to strengthen the way we support safeguarding practice across our nurseries, with additional training, refreshed guidance and further checks to help ensure expectations are understood and consistently embedded. This work is being led at the highest levels of the organisation and reflects our ongoing commitment to learning, improving and providing the safe, nurturing environments that every child deserves. 

We are also continuing our work on the use of cameras in nurseries. A small group of nurseries will take part in a pilot this autumn, helping us understand what works well in practice and how any future approach can best support children, families and colleagues. More nurseries will follow before the end of the year, with the programme anticipated to finish next summer. If your child’s nursery is included in the pilot group, you will receive additional communication about this shortly. 

I also wanted to share some of the positive work taking place through the Bright Horizons Foundation for Children. Our charity, which many of you have supported, continues to make an impact in local communities by creating Bright Spaces for children and families experiencing adversity. So far this year, 14 new Bright Spaces have been opened with many more planned over the next few months. Thanks to the support of our families, colleagues and corporate partners, the Foundation now supports 115 Bright Spaces across England and Scotland, brightening the lives of thousands of children. It is always humbling to see how the care and commitment at the heart of our Bright Horizons’ community can extend beyond our nurseries and make such a meaningful difference. 

Finally, across many of our nurseries, our preschool graduation celebrations have been taking place. These moments are always incredibly special. They are a chance to celebrate how much the children have grown, the friendships they have made and the confidence they have developed as they prepare for their next step. I know how proud our teams feel to have been part of each child’s early years journey, and I hope families have enjoyed marking these milestones together.
