The team at Bright Horizons Elsie Inglis Early Learning and Childcare is celebrating after winning a prestigious award at the inaugural Early Years Scotland Awards 2026.
The Edinburgh nursery took home the Small Changes, Big Impact Practice Award at the ceremony, held at Glasgow’s Radisson Blu Hotel on Saturday 15 August. The accolade recognises simple but meaningful actions that make a positive difference to children and families, celebrating creative ideas that support wellbeing, inclusion and participation.
The win was part of a successful evening for Bright Horizons, with colleagues from across Scotland shortlisted in six of the eight award categories. Finalists represented teams from Bright Horizons 24 St Swithin, Elsie Inglis, First Class, Maxim Park and Treehouse.
The Early Years Scotland Awards were created to celebrate the dedication, innovation and professionalism of people working with Scotland’s youngest children, shining a light on the people and settings helping children feel safe, nurtured and able to reach their full potential.
Karen, Nursery Manager at Bright Horizons Elsie Inglis Early Learning and Childcare, said:
“We’re absolutely delighted to have won the Small Changes, Big Impact Practice Award. It’s a wonderful recognition of the care, creativity and thought that our team puts into everything we do for the children. What makes this award particularly special is that it celebrates how even the smallest improvements can have a meaningful impact, so it’s fantastic to see that work recognised.
“We’re also incredibly proud of everyone across Bright Horizons who was shortlisted. Having six nominations across such a wide range of categories is an amazing achievement and really shows the passion and dedication of our teams across Scotland.”
For the Elsie Inglis team, the win marks a special moment for everyone at the nursery and celebrates the commitment and creativity that goes into creating positive experiences for children every day.
