Meet the Nursery Manager Transforming Young Lives in Islington

Meet the Nursery Manager Transforming Young Lives in Islington

After a vibrant refresh, Bright Horizons Floral Place Day Nursery and Pre-School is set to reopen its doors this September - and at the heart of its return is a familiar face.

Irmina, who celebrates 20 years with Bright Horizons this year, began her journey as a nursery nurse. A decade later, she stepped into the manager role - and hasn’t looked back since.

Reflecting on her time in early years, Irmina shares:

My favourite part of the job is witnessing children’s development - from their very first steps to their first words. It’s magical to be part of that journey. I want every child to feel safe and secure in themselves, so they’re confident as they move through life.”

But it’s not just the children who benefit from Irmina’s dedication - her influence extends across the team:

Supporting our practitioners is just as important. I love being able to share my experience and help shape the next generation of early years professionals.”

One memory, she says, stands out above the rest:

“A child once painted a picture of me, with the biggest smile and the brightest colours. That moment meant so much - it showed me they saw more than a teacher; they saw someone who brought them joy and made them feel safe. That’s everything.”

Floral Place is now welcoming enquiries from both returning and new families, with personal tours and an October 2025 Open Day available to book.
