Waterside Day Nursery and Preschool is a purpose built nursery situated on Thames Valley Park, within easy commute of Reading and the station. Take advantage of the free shuttle bus from the station and be dropped off outside the nursery.
The nursery offers spacious home rooms that have direct access to our large and secure garden areas which provide fresh-air learning opportunities for little ones all year round.
We have a soft play room for safe indoor physical activity that all children can enjoy and we take children on walks to enjoy the lake and wildlife.
Bright Horizons very own curriculum also includes Creative Cooks and Green Gardeners that offer children an opportunity to explore food through cooking with home grown vegetables.
Our unique Healthy Hearts and Minds activities provide inspirational and engaging learning experiences using the innovative and well established Boogie Mites and myHappymind programmes.
Our excellent nutritionally balanced menu is produced on site and is endorsed by Action for Children. All dietary requirements are catered for and there are strict procedures in place in regards to allergens.

I have been in childcare since 2006 and joined Waterside in 2014 as maternity cover room leader for the baby room; I soon became a permenant member of staff leading the 1-2’s group. After a year I moved into lead the pre-school group and becoming Third in Charge. In November 2016 I was successful in becoming maternity cover Deputy Manager. Having spent a lot of time in each age group I have a sound knowledge, understanding and experience of all age groups developmental stages.
I hold a foundation degree in Childcare and Education which I love putting into practice every day, delivering a variety of different activities and resources for individual children to learn and develop while having fun!
The Bright Horizons passion and enthusiasm for providing high-quality care isn’t just common knowledge within our own business – we’ve also gained some impressive accolades from external sources for excellence as both a childcare provider, and as an employer. We are the only childcare company to have been listed for the last 11 years as one of the country’s top 50 “Great Places to Work” by the Great Place to Work Institute.
