Request a call backChildcare has always been a passion of mine; I have been in the profession for 28 years and worked at Mongewell Park for 17 years as the Nursery Manager.
I find working with children extremely rewarding; getting to see them grow and learn through their own curiosity and play is enriching.
I started working for bright horizons since leaving college, this was my first Job and I am still here 14 years later. I did my NVQ level 3 whilst working here, and have now worked my way up to Deputy. Working alongside children in early years is so rewarding, you become an instrumental part of their welfare, their health, and their early education and setting them on good footing for their future journey. Every day is full of joy and fun, and this is the main reason I have been in this career for all of my adult life.
I have been in the nursery profession for 14 years and have a child of my own. I have been at Mongewell since 2010 and have grown within my role here, starting as a nursery assistant and progressing to Deputy Manager. I have a Foundation Degree in Early Years, I am passionate about furthering my knowledge and understanding of child development. I find working with young children rewarding, their curiosity and drive to learn is inspiring and refreshing.
Hi, my name is Candy Floss, I joined Bright Horizons in March 2010 as the ‘Super Safety Hero’ to help nursery children stay safe and manage risks. My role as a Health and Safety Super Hero is unique to Bright Horizons and I’m in every nursery, 365 days a year.
Back in 2010, I saw a job advert for a Zebra Super Safety Hero – I was very excited, applied and was invited for an interview with several other zebras. We were interviewed by all the children who then voted on which of us would be their Super Safety Hero. It was hoof biting but I was thrilled when they told me I was the most voted for by the children who all loved me because of my cape and bag. My bag is very special, if something fits inside, it’s a choking hazard. You might be wondering how I got my name. The children in our nurseries chose five names and voted for their favourite. I love it as it’s unique, I mean have you ever heard of a zebra called Candy Floss? Exactly!
The Bright Horizons passion and enthusiasm for providing high-quality care isn’t just common knowledge within our own business – we’ve also gained some impressive accolades from external sources for excellence as both a childcare provider, and as an employer. We are the only childcare company to have been listed for the last 11 years as one of the country’s top 50 “Great Places to Work” by the Great Place to Work Institute.
