A place to grow

Lee Park Day Nursery and Preschool provides care and early education for children aged 3 months to 5 years in a beautiful building across two rooms.

We provide a warm, welcoming environment, with our experienced and caring team supporting the transition, and at the earliest stage, our free settling in sessions ease the transition from home to nursery. Our team has a combined experience of over 100 years, so we are guaranteed to provide the best care for your children.

The nursery has some great travel links to both buses and trains/DLR. Lewisham station is approximately 5-10 minutes on the bus, with the routes 178, 122, 321, 261 passing and stopping outside the nursery. Blackheath station is also within a 1-mile radius. (Early starts of 7.45am are also available but are subject to prior arrangement with the nursery management team).

Our nursery in Lee features a lovely little outdoor space which gives the children lots of opportunities, including growing their own flowers, fruit and vegetables. In addition to this, trips further afield to Manor Park and local library encourage the children's familiarity with their local community.

We provide excellent nutritionally balanced menus using fresh ingredients for our wonderful chef who prepares each meal. Our menus are also accredited by 'Action for Children' to ensure a perfectly balanced meal for the children to be able to learn and develop comfortably while at nursery. Each week, the chef and practitioners also take the time to involve the children in various cooking activities as part of our 'creative cooks' growing enhancement. Whether it be making fruit smoothies, making chapati pizzas or putting together their own sandwiches in preparation for tea.

At Lee Park, an enriching Ready for School programme, giving every child the opportunity to gain knowledge and confidence to thrive in school and beyond is supplied.

Our wonderful nursery also provides a new curriculum, Bright Beginnings. By providing our own curriculum, we can invest in children's learning and wellbeing with a consistent approach from the outset; 'A Bright Beginning for every child'. Our curriculum puts children's wellbeing at the centre of everything we do. It will ensure that children are prepared for the next stage in their learning journey, whether they are transitioning to primary school or moving rooms within the nursery.

Safety is our number one priority. All our practitioners are First Aid trained and all nurseries have specialist SEND staff for children who require additional support due to special educational needs.

The nursery has been awarded an Ofsted rating of 'Good' for their commitment to high quality childcare and education.

We would be delighted to welcome your family to Lee Park Day Nursery and Preschool. Our friendly, experienced and highly qualified staff are on hand to conduct a personal nursery tour at a time to suit you.

Sarah Clark Lee Park

Sarah Clark

Originally from Germany, my journey in childcare started when I was 16 years old. I got the opportunity to work as an apprentice at an after-school club. From that moment on I was passionate about nurturing and supporting children to reach their full potential and be part of their unique journey.

I decided to go to university to gain a deeper knowledge of children's development where I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Pedagogy and Theology. Throughout my student life I continued working at different after school clubs, tutoring children in German and English and took time off from university to be able to work as an Au Pair in New Zealand, which I absolutely loved.

Then in 2014 I moved to London to work at a bilingual nursery (German/English) where I worked for the first time in the Early Years sector within the UK. Whilst working at the nursery I further depend my understanding of the Early Years profession by achieving my Level 3 qualification in Childcare and Education.

In 2019 I decided to progress my career and became part of the Lee Park family where I took on the role as Senco, Preschool Room leader and third in charge. In February 2022 I got the opportunity to become Deputy Manager, which I am very excited about. I am looking forward to support and motivate my team in providing exceptional experiences for the children within our care.

Candy Floss

Candy Floss

Hi, my name is Candy Floss, I joined Bright Horizons in March 2010 as the ‘Super Safety Hero’ to help nursery children stay safe and manage risks. My role as a Health and Safety Super Hero is unique to Bright Horizons and I’m in every nursery, 365 days a year.

Back in 2010, I saw a job advert for a Zebra Super Safety Hero – I was very excited, applied and was invited for an interview with several other zebras. We were interviewed by all the children who then voted on which of us would be their Super Safety Hero. It was hoof biting but I was thrilled when they told me I was the most voted for by the children who all loved me because of my cape and bag. My bag is very special, if something fits inside, it’s a choking hazard. You might be wondering how I got my name. The children in our nurseries chose five names and voted for their favourite. I love it as it’s unique, I mean have you ever heard of a zebra called Candy Floss? Exactly!

Why Bright Horizons

The Bright Horizons passion and enthusiasm for providing high-quality care isn’t just common knowledge within our own business – we’ve also gained some impressive accolades from external sources for excellence as both a childcare provider, and as an employer. We are the only childcare company to have been listed for the last 11 years as one of the country’s top 50 “Great Places to Work” by the Great Place to Work Institute.
