Exciting new partnership with Annabel Karmel & Creative Cooks Awareness Week
Date: 25 Sep 2018
Our Creative Cooks Awareness Week, which took place earlier this month, focussed on encouraging children to understand the importance of healthy living, nutrition and hygiene whilst taking part in exciting and informative cooking activities. This year we have a new partnership with the UK’s No. 1 children’s cookery author, Annabel Karmel. Annabel was very keen to get involved with our Creative Cooks week and she brings with her 26 years of experience and a passion for creating healthy and nutritious meals for the whole family.
See below to find out what some of our nurseries got up to during our Creative Cooks Awareness Week:
Barnes Day Nursery and Preschool had the pleasure of inviting Annabel Karmel to help with their Creative Cooks week. Four brave children took on the challenge of baking one of her recipes for her to taste! Of course, they were all winners!
The children at Chineham Park Day Nursery and Preschool have been making their own packed lunches with Chef, Leona Strange, as part of Creative Cooks week!
Elsie Inglis Early Learning Centre have been experimenting with Annabel Karmel's recipe cards. The preschool children chose to make pizzas for their snack. They had a look at what they needed and created a list of ingredients. After using Candy Floss to help them risk asses the activity they then got busy! Each child made their own pizza and enjoyed these together as a picnic snack.
The staff at Banstead Day Nursery and Preschool recently took part in a bake off for the parents for Creative Cooks Week. The parents tasted and judged all the cakes... and the winner was Gemma Bruton!
