Bright Horizons Bramingham Day Nursery and Preschool in Luton has been praised by Ofsted for creating a welcoming environment where children feel secure, develop confidence and build the skills they need for their next steps.
Inspectors found that “children arrive happily at this welcoming nursery”, with a sensory space at the entrance helping children settle into their day calmly and positively before heading into their rooms.
The nursery achieved ‘Expected Standard’ across all areas assessed, with inspectors highlighting children’s positive relationships with staff, their enthusiasm for learning and the support they receive as they prepare for school.
Throughout the nursery, staff take time to understand children’s interests and personalities, using play and everyday experiences to support their development. Communication and language are a particular focus, with babies hearing staff sing throughout the day, while older children build their vocabulary through conversations and group activities.
As they approach school, pre-school children are given plenty of opportunities to build their confidence and become familiar with new routines and environments. Inspectors found that children demonstrate “confidence and a zest for learning”, alongside a strong understanding of routines that will help them settle into school.
The nursery also works with local schools to support children’s transitions, giving them opportunities to experience activities that reflect those they will encounter in school, helping them prepare for the next stage of their education.
Inspectors also highlighted the nursery’s focus on “positive and nurturing relationships”, with staff supporting children to feel safe and develop their independence. Parents praised the nursery’s detailed communication and thorough induction process, helping families feel informed from the very start.
Sarah Jane, Nursery Manager at Bright Horizons Bramingham Day Nursery and Preschool, said:
