Five Bright Horizons nurseries have been recognised in this year’s Eco-Schools Impact Report, celebrating the ways young children and nursery teams are incorporating sustainability and environmental learning into everyday life.
The 2025-26 Eco-Schools programme saw 68 Bright Horizons nurseries achieve the Eco-Schools: Early Years Green Flag Award, recognising their commitment to helping children understand and engage with environmental issues from an early age.
The report features the following Bright Horizons nurseries:
Together, the featured settings demonstrate the breadth of environmental activity taking place across Bright Horizons nurseries. Children have been involved in projects ranging from growing plants and supporting wildlife to finding creative ways to reuse materials, reduce waste and care for their local surroundings.
The recognition forms part of Bright Horizons’ wider commitment to sustainability through its Future Earth programme, which brings environmental learning into nursery life and encourages children to develop a strong connection with nature.
By making sustainability part of children's everyday experiences, Bright Horizons aims to help them develop an understanding of the natural world while encouraging curiosity, responsibility and positive habits that can continue as they grow.
Gemma Robinson, Energy and Sustainability Manager at Bright Horizons, said:
“We’re incredibly proud to see the achievements of our nurseries recognised in this year’s Eco-Schools Impact Report. Environmental learning is such an important part of early childhood, and it’s fantastic to see the enthusiasm of our children and nursery teams in finding ways to care for nature and their local communities. These experiences help children understand that they can play a part in looking after the world around them.
“Through our Future Earth programme and our work with Eco-Schools, we’re committed to continuing to make sustainability an engaging and meaningful part of everyday nursery life.”
Bright Horizons’ wider environmental and social impact is detailed in its 2026 Impact Report, which highlights the work taking place across the organisation to create positive outcomes for children, families, colleagues and communities.
