Young footballers from The Pearls, Thaxted Rangers first all-girls football team, are celebrating the start of a new season in brand-new kits thanks to sponsorship from local nursery, Bright Horizons Bishops Stortford.
After a hugely successful first year playing in the Alan Boswell League in Cambridgeshire, the team is now looking forward to their second season. The nursery is sponsoring the girls' football kits this year, helping to support the team as they continue to develop their skills, build confidence and further their love of the game
Earlier this summer, this partnership was celebrated at Thaxted Rangers' annual Awards and Fun Day, which brought together players, families, coaches and sponsors for an afternoon recognising the children's hard work and achievements throughout the season.
The event gave players the opportunity to be recognised for their individual accomplishments, while also celebrating the teamwork, determination and enthusiasm that help make the club such an important part of the local community.
Sheryl, Nursery Manager at Bright Horizons Bishops Stortford Nursery, who hosted the Awards and Fun Day, said:
"It was lovely to see the children being recognised for all their hard work and to see everyone come together to celebrate a fantastic season.
"At Bright Horizons, we're passionate about helping children grow in confidence and reach their potential, so we're delighted to support a team that provides such positive opportunities for young people in our community. It was also wonderful to see how much the support from Bright Horizons means to the team."
Lauren Barham, Vice Chair of Thaxted Rangers FC reiterated the importance of this support:
"We are incredibly grateful to Bright Horizons for their support of The Pearls. Research has shown that access to sport provides girls with a variety of physical, mental, social and economic advantages that continue well beyond their time on the pitch. We are proud to work alongside Bright Horizons to ensure that girls in our community get opportunities to access those benefits, build confidence and develop skills that will stay with them for life."
Supporting children to grow in confidence, develop new skills and thrive is at the heart of the Bright Horizons Nurture Approach. To find out more about Bright Horizons Bishops Stortford Day Nursery and Preschool, visit the nursery website.
