Tiny Dancers at Bright Horizons Bolton Raise Over £1,000 for Children’s Charity
Children at Bright Horizons Bolton Day Nursery and Preschool have danced their way to an incredible £1,149.31 for the Bright Horizons Foundation for Children, after swapping their usual nursery routines for a fun-filled day of music, colourful outfits and a very special furry guest.
The nursery hosted a Danceathon in July 2026, inviting children to dress up in their brightest and most colourful outfits to spend the day dancing, singing and having fun together.
But there was one guest who stole the show – a giant capybara!
The children watched in amazement as their unexpected guest joined in with the dancing, with plenty of big smiles and enthusiastic moves throughout the day.
Colette, Nursery Manager at Bright Horizons Bolton Day Nursery and Preschool, said:
“We’re so proud of the children and everyone who helped make our Danceathon such a special day. Seeing the children arrive in their amazing outfits, ready to dance, was wonderful. And the capybara was certainly a surprise they won’t forget!
“Most importantly, the children had so much fun while helping to raise money for a charity that does such important work for children and families. We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who supported the event and we couldn’t be prouder of all our little dancers.”
The Bright Horizons Foundation for Children was established in the UK in 2005 and supports children and families facing difficult circumstances by creating Bright Spaces. Play areas designed as welcoming environments where children can feel safe, have fun, relax and build positive relationships.
For the children at Bolton Day Nursery, the day was a chance to show that fundraising can be fun, bringing everyone together through music, dancing and laughter, while making a difference to other children facing tough challenges.
