Work has begun to transform a former care home on Gordon Avenue in Camberley into a new Bright Horizons nursery, set to open in summer 2026.
The building, which has stood empty for some time, is being redeveloped to bring the site back into active use and create 88 new childcare places for families across Camberley and the wider Surrey Heath area.
Once complete, the nursery will provide high-quality early years education and care for children from infancy to preschool age. Teaching will be delivered through Bright Horizons’ Nurture Approach, which focuses on supporting each child’s emotional wellbeing, confidence and curiosity alongside their learning and development.
Through carefully planned activities and play-based experiences, children are supported to grow in independence and build strong foundations for their next stage of education. The setting will also feature dedicated learning rooms and outdoor space designed to encourage exploration and discovery.
The new nursery is expected to support working parents locally by increasing access to reliable childcare in the area, helping families balance work and home life more easily.
Dani Palmer, Regional Director, said:
“We’re so excited to see work begin on our new Camberley nursery. It’s fantastic to be bringing this building back into use and creating 88 new childcare places for local families.”
The nursery will be led by Nursery Manager Dani, an experienced early years professional who is looking forward to welcoming families and establishing the setting as a trusted part of the Camberley community.
Families interested in securing a place can register their interest via the Bright Horizons website here.
Construction is now underway, with children expected to be welcomed through the doors in summer 2026.
