Bright Horizons Southampton Day Nursery and Pre-School has successfully doubled its fundraising target for this year’s BBC Children in Need appeal, raising over £400, against an original goal of £200.
The fundraising week took place ahead of the BBC’s annual televised appeal, which supports projects that help children and young people across the UK to thrive. Inspired by the charity’s message that every child deserves someone who shows up for them, the team and families at Bright Horizons Southampton Day Nursery and Pre-School came together for a week of themed activities and fancy-dress fun.
Nursery Manager Sarah said:
“Our Nurture Approach focuses on providing children with consistent care, encouragement and a sense of belonging. Supporting BBC Children in Need just felt like a natural extension of this, as the charity helps children who may not always have access to the support they need. The children absolutely loved taking part, and we are so incredibly proud to have more than doubled our fundraising target.”
Children and colleagues dressed up as their favourite characters, with families joining in fundraising activities throughout the week. The nursery community embraced the spirit of the event, helping raise awareness and contributing generously to the cause.
Bright Horizons Southampton Day Nursery and Pre-School remains committed to supporting charitable initiatives that promote children’s wellbeing and create opportunities for all young people.
