Bright Horizons Callands Day Nursery is inviting local families to join its latest nature-inspired initiative as part of its push for Distinction-level Eco-Schools Green Flag status. Every Monday throughout the month of May & June, the nursery is hosting free Forest School stay and play sessions from 10am to 11am, open to all local 2, 3 and 4-year-olds.
These hands-on sessions offer young children the chance to explore the outdoors while learning about sustainability. So far, the children have created bird feeders, crafted nature crowns, and built imaginative faces using natural materials gathered on site. It’s all part of the nursery’s broader effort to foster a lifelong love of the environment.
“We’re incredibly proud to have already achieved Merit-level recognition through Eco-Schools,” said Charlotte, Deputy Manager at Bright Horizons Callands. “Our goal now is to go one step further and achieve Distinction. These Forest School sessions are not only fun and free for local families, but they also show how we’re embedding sustainability into everyday learning. We’re even working on creating a natural habitat to help bees thrive in our garden.”
Bright Horizons’ eco-education efforts align with its Nurture Approach, supporting children’s wellbeing and development by encouraging meaningful connections with nature from the earliest age.
