A special visitor arrived at Bright Horizons Chineham Park Day Nursery and Preschool in Basingstoke recently to help the children learn about road safety, talk about safe ways to cross the road and what to do in busy areas.

Lloyd the local crossing patrol person was warmly welcomed by the children who were interested to learn about his enjoyable role as a lollipop man. Some of the children pretended to be cars on the road, whilst the others acted as pedestrians. Lloyd then demonstrated the importance of his role and how he helps children and families cross the road safely.

Nursery Manager Chloe said, “Thank you so much to Lloyd for taking the time to spend with us. It is such an enjoyable morning/afternoon and the children loved getting to grips with the importance of road safety. Candy Floss, our mascot for keeping everyone safe, was involved too. Each child has a certificate to take home for attending Lloyd's road safety visit, as well as a Candyfloss sticker for their tops.”
