Bright Horizons News

Emma King, nursery apprentice at Bright Horizons Portswood Day Nursery and Preschool, has been announced as the winner of the Early Years Apprentice of the Year Award as part of the Lifetime Learner Achievement Awards.

Emma was shortlisted as a finalist for the award after completing her Early Years Educator Level 3 apprenticeship.

Emma said: "I am extremely proud and touched by this accolade. Having completed my apprenticeship during the height of the Covid-19 pandemic, I faced more challenges and complications than I could ever have foreseen when starting my NVQ. Through completing this qualification, I have learned so much about early years development and how to be a better early years practitioner, bringing my newly gained knowledge and skills to my role within Bright Horizons. I am extremely grateful to my tutor for her support and encouragement from Day 1 without which I could not have achieved my distinction."

This year saw more than 600 nominations for the Lifetime Learner Achievement Awards across 12 categories. The winners of each award were determined by a panel of three judges in each category.
