Lewisham nursery children learn importance of healthy eating

Children at Bright Horizons Lewisham Day Nursery and Preschool have been learning the joys of planting and growing to enhance their knowledge of the importance of healthy eating.

The nursery chef spoke to the children about growing plants for food and then led them in a gardening activity.

“Gardening engages all sorts of senses and helps children to develop and recognise them without even realising,” said Nursery Manager Sally Osborn. “It encourages relaxation, healthy eating, it develops social skills and teaches responsibility & patience.”
