At Bright Horizons, we believe that meaningful change begins with everyday actions. Across our nurseries, teams are helping to shape a greener tomorrow — from championing Eco‑Schools initiatives and cultivating vibrant outdoor spaces to cutting waste, improving recycling and using energy more thoughtfully.

Through our Future Earth Programme, we are working together towards a greener, more sustainable future. By embedding sustainability into the way we operate, make decisions and engage others, we aim to deliver meaningful environmental outcomes both now and for generations to come.
To support this ambition, our work is guided by six key focus areas. These priority areas reflect where we can make the greatest difference and provide a clear framework for action, progress and accountability - Small steps, Big difference.
Energy & carbon management
We strive to reduce our carbon footprint by optimising energy efficiency through innovative technologies and sustainable practices.
Procurement
We work to prioritise sustainable procurement practices, sourcing ethical and environmentally friendly products and services wherever possible. Choosing supply chain partners that share our commitment to sustainability and social responsibility.
Business Travel and Commuting
We encourage sustainable travel options and remote working solutions to reduce our travel-related carbon emissions. Our initiatives promote the use of public transportation and other eco-friendly commuting alternatives.
Waste and Resource Management
We are dedicated to minimising waste and maximising resource efficiency. By implementing robust recycling programs and promoting a circular economy, we aim to reduce our environmental impact.
Biodiversity
We work to protect and enhance biodiversity in the areas where we operate. Through collaboration with our partners, we will engage in habitat restoration and work to preserve natural ecosystems, while promoting biodiversity within our nurseries.
Education & Engagement
We believe engagement and education are the foundation for forming sustainable change. We are committed to raising awareness and providing training on sustainability practices to our colleagues, partners, and the communities we serve.
