Alternative Female Manager Silhouette

Kerry Mardle

I have been working within the childcare sector for over 20 years and still feel as passionate today as I did when I first started my career, all those years ago. As a working mum with 2 of my own children, I know how important it is to have a place where your children are safe and secure, within a caring Environment.

My qualifications include: a Degree in Childcare, Education & Education and a NNEB level 3 childcare qualification.

Children’ mental health and well being is something that inspires me - I enjoy helping to create an environment, where children are stimulated, can thrive and are nurtured to develop both strong minds and bodies -Vital skills, that will help them throughout their life.

Laura Wheeler

I started with Asquith Nurseries, which became part of the Bright Horizons family, 15 years ago. I started as a student, completing my college placement at the Portswood Nursery.

In 2019, I moved to Warsash Nursery as Third in Charge after having my little boy. He attends this setting which means I have both parental and professional perspective within the nursery.

Since getting my qualification in 2008, I have progressed from the position of Nursery Nurse to Deputy Manager. I have one year remaining until I complete my degree in Primary School Teaching and Learning. This has enabled me to have a clearer understanding of the ways in which children learn.

I have a passion for ensuring the children in our care achieve their full potential. I help them to learn and develop by creating fun, safe and stimulating experiences and environments.

Candy Floss

Candy Floss

Hi, my name is Candy Floss, I joined Bright Horizons in March 2010 as the ‘Super Safety Hero’ to help nursery children stay safe and manage risks. My role as a Health and Safety Super Hero is unique to Bright Horizons and I’m in every nursery, 365 days a year.

Back in 2010, I saw a job advert for a Zebra Super Safety Hero – I was very excited, applied and was invited for an interview with several other zebras. We were interviewed by all the children who then voted on which of us would be their Super Safety Hero. It was hoof biting but I was thrilled when they told me I was the most voted for by the children who all loved me because of my cape and bag. My bag is very special, if something fits inside, it’s a choking hazard. You might be wondering how I got my name. The children in our nurseries chose five names and voted for their favourite. I love it as it’s unique, I mean have you ever heard of a zebra called Candy Floss? Exactly!

Why Bright Horizons

The Bright Horizons passion and enthusiasm for providing high-quality care isn’t just common knowledge within our own business – we’ve also gained some impressive accolades from external sources for excellence as both a childcare provider, and as an employer. We are the only childcare company to have been listed for the last 11 years as one of the country’s top 50 “Great Places to Work” by the Great Place to Work Institute.
