In a Mumsnet survey of 131 users of Bright Horizons Nurseries: 82% would buy again and 85% would recommend

Our grand Thatcham day nursery provides ‘Outstanding’ quality care to children aged 3 months to 5 years.
Set in a classical Grade II listed property, our nursery provides the perfect space for your child to explore all of their favourite activities and access to high quality resources in our ICT suite.
To further support your child, they can also bend, hammer and construct in our regular woodwork classes. These classes give them the support and raw materials to encourage their natural constructive abilities and produce their very own creations.
In addition, we practice a Growing Enhancement programme unique to Bright Horizons, further giving your child the inspiration and confidence to explore subjects such as mathematics, art, reading and writing well ahead of their journey into school.

Our unique Healthy Hearts and Minds activities provide inspirational and engaging learning experiences using the innovative and well established Boogie Mites and myHappymind programmes.

An enriching Ready for School programme gives every child the opportunity to gain knowledge and confidence to thrive in school and beyond.

Our day nursery and preschool in Thatcham is conveniently located just minutes away from Thatcham town centre and a five minute drive from Thatcham Railway Station. We also have an on-site car park to make pick-up and drop-off as convenient for you as possible.
We are rated ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted, and local parents recognise the outstanding quality of childcare we provide by giving us a daynurseries score of 9.7/10 and a Google review score of 4.7/5 (as of January 2020).
Our staff would love to meet you and your child, so book a visit today and we will show you all our nursery has to offer during your own personal tour.

Candy Floss

Candy Floss

Hi, my name is Candy Floss, I joined Bright Horizons in March 2010 as the ‘Super Safety Hero’ to help nursery children stay safe and manage risks. My role as a Health and Safety Super Hero is unique to Bright Horizons and I’m in every nursery, 365 days a year.

Back in 2010, I saw a job advert for a Zebra Super Safety Hero – I was very excited, applied and was invited for an interview with several other zebras. We were interviewed by all the children who then voted on which of us would be their Super Safety Hero. It was hoof biting but I was thrilled when they told me I was the most voted for by the children who all loved me because of my cape and bag. My bag is very special, if something fits inside, it’s a choking hazard. You might be wondering how I got my name. The children in our nurseries chose five names and voted for their favourite. I love it as it’s unique, I mean have you ever heard of a zebra called Candy Floss? Exactly!

Why Bright Horizons

The Bright Horizons passion and enthusiasm for providing high-quality care isn’t just common knowledge within our own business – we’ve also gained some impressive accolades from external sources for excellence as both a childcare provider, and as an employer. We are the only childcare company to have been listed for the last 11 years as one of the country’s top 50 “Great Places to Work” by the Great Place to Work Institute.
