A place to grow

Streatham Day Nursery and Preschool in Wandsworth offers a warm, welcoming environment supporting the transition from home to nursery.

The highly qualified staff team are long serving members making us more of a family than colleagues, with some of the management team being with Bright Horizons for 17 years!

Our babies & toddlers share a garden with the preschool children having their own separate garden with free flow for all. The baby room has a separate sleep room with cots meaning it offers that real family-like, intimate, home from home feel.  There are also extra-curricular activities for babies and toddlers such as Hartbeeps.

We offer a fantastic ‘Ready for School’ programme which supports that all important transition from preschool on to school, helping the children and families plan and prepare with uniforms, book bags, exercise books, ‘Ready for School’ shopping lists and an afternoon visit to a local primary school.

We are perfectly situated between Streatham Vale and Streatham Common with great bus links too, making us an ideal choice for commuting parents. There is also free parking on all surrounding roads.

We provide an excellent nutritionally-balanced menu using fresh ingredients prepared by our own on site chef.

Our fees are all-inclusive for all age groups meaning parents don’t need to worry about packing any extras such as nappies, creams, wipes or milk.

The nursery is rated Good in our latest Ofsted inspection.

Meet the Team

Peggy Mushota

I have worked for Bright Horizons since 2011 working at our Wandsworth Common Day Nursery and Preschool and Clapham Village Day Nursery in Preschool before coming to Streatham.  Quality childcare is my passion and  I have been in childcare since 1999. I have a Level 3 in Childcare and Education, and a level 3 in Management. I have a wide range of experience in childcare and plan to put this to the test to help Streatham achieve the best result.

Name of person

Nasreen Shah

My journey with Streatham Day Nursery and Preschool started in 2011, where I began as an unqualified bank nursery assistant in the Baby Room. That then inspired me to have a career within childcare and I worked exceptionally hard to become Deputy Manager in May 2017.  I am now Level 3 qualified.

During my journey I have worked in all of the rooms here with children of all age groups, giving me a wealth of experience.

I am passionate in delivering exceptional care and education to all our children and every family here at Streatham.

I look forward to welcoming and caring for your child here at Streatham and hope you have a long and happy stay with us.

Candy Floss

Hi, my name is Candy Floss, I joined Bright Horizons in March 2010 as the ‘Super Safety Hero’ to help nursery children stay safe and manage risks. My role as a Health and Safety Super Hero is unique to Bright Horizons and I’m in every nursery, 365 days a year.

Back in 2010, I saw a job advert for a Zebra Super Safety Hero – I was very excited, applied and was invited for an interview with several other zebras. We were interviewed by all the children who then voted on which of us would be their Super Safety Hero. It was hoof biting but I was thrilled when they told me I was the most voted for by the children who all loved me because of my cape and bag. My bag is very special, if something fits inside, it’s a choking hazard. You might be wondering how I got my name. The children in our nurseries chose five names and voted for their favourite. I love it as it’s unique, I mean have you ever heard of a zebra called Candy Floss? Exactly!

Why Bright Horizons

The Bright Horizons passion and enthusiasm for providing high-quality care isn’t just common knowledge within our own business – we’ve also gained some impressive accolades from external sources for excellence as both a childcare provider, and as an employer. We are the only childcare company to have been listed for the last 11 years as one of the country’s top 50 “Great Places to Work” by the Great Place to Work Institute.
