Abigail Hudson

I have been working in childcare for over 15 years after qualifying with an NVQ in Childcare and Education at a Bright Horizons nursery in Bristol where I stayed for just over 11 years.

Whilst working with Bright Horizons I started as an assistant then worked my way up to room leader and third in charge I then gained further qualifications supporting my journey as SEND of the nursery which is very interesting and rewarding. From here I started my adventure supporting other nurseries within Bright Horizons and I am now on my 15th year with Bright Horizons and I am proud to be able to support such a great company.

Emma

My name is Emma, I started at Stepping Stones Day Nursery in 1998 age 16 years. I completed my NVQ L3 and worked in all areas of the nursery gaining experience.

I became 3rd in charge in July 2008 and covered the deputy position for maternity leave shortly after. After having my 2 children I came back part time as a Nursery nurse. I did my food supervisor Level 3 course and became the afternoon cook in the nursery.

In January 2018 I took the position as 3rd in charge and baby room leader and came back to work full time. Then in August 2018 I was promoted to Deputy Manager.I have been with the Nursery now for 20 years and enjoy working with my amazing Team members.

Candy Floss

Hi, my name is Candy Floss, I joined Bright Horizons in March 2010 as the ‘Super Safety Hero’ to help nursery children stay safe and manage risks. My role as a Health and Safety Super Hero is unique to Bright Horizons and I’m in every nursery, 365 days a year.

Back in 2010, I saw a job advert for a Zebra Super Safety Hero – I was very excited, applied and was invited for an interview with several other zebras. We were interviewed by all the children who then voted on which of us would be their Super Safety Hero. It was hoof biting but I was thrilled when they told me I was the most voted for by the children who all loved me because of my cape and bag. My bag is very special, if something fits inside, it’s a choking hazard. You might be wondering how I got my name. The children in our nurseries chose five names and voted for their favourite. I love it as it’s unique, I mean have you ever heard of a zebra called Candy Floss? Exactly!

Why Bright Horizons

The Bright Horizons passion and enthusiasm for providing high-quality care isn’t just common knowledge within our own business – we’ve also gained some impressive accolades from external sources for excellence as both a childcare provider, and as an employer.
