A place to grow

Bright Horizons Spectrum Early Learning and Childcare (formerly know as Asquith Four Seasons Spectrum Day Nursery) is situated in the Spectrum building in Glasgow City Centre next to Central, Anderston and Charing Cross train stations; a prime location for working families.

We work in partnership with Glasgow City Council and work with national guidelines, frameworks and curriculum. The nursery is welcoming, warm and has been designed to excite and stimulate curious young minds. Our outdoor environment is used daily, providing fresh air no matter the weather. As we are based in the centre of the city there is a wealth of knowledge to be gained from libraries, museums and parks. We celebrate Glasgow’s diversity and culture which provides important learning opportunities for our children. The resources within the day nursery have been specially chosen, as they are renowned for their safety and the ways in which they support children’s open-ended investigation and exploration throughout their play and learning. We strive to provide the best service in supporting our families.

We supply formula milk, breakfast, snacks, lunch and dinner which are included in the monthly fee.

All meals are healthy, well-balanced and prepared from fresh ingredients by our team of qualified chefs. All dietary requirements are catered for and there are strict procedures in place in regards to allergens. We will be delighted to welcome you to Spectrum Early Learning and Childcare.

Our friendly, experienced and highly qualified staff are on hand to conduct a personal nursery tour at a time to suit you.

Meet the Team

Marianne Brolly

I have worked in the Early Years sector for over 19 years; I became involved in childcare through an initiative set out by South Lanarkshire Council. I completed my NC and HNC, gaining experience in a variety of different establishments and working with children age range birth to 12 years.

I believe children should have a loving and safe learning environment where practitioners hold high expectations for all children resulting in children being highly engaged throughout their day at nursery.

I have been in a management role for 14 years working in different types of establishments such as a Gaelic Nursery and a Montessori nursery to name a few. During this time, I have completed a Level 4 in Childhood Practice and I then completed an assessor course in a level 3; this allowed me to assist the staff that were completing their childcare qualification.

In my spare time, I enjoy the outdoors and spending time with family and my beautiful granddaughter.

Candy Floss

Hi, my name is Candy Floss, I joined Bright Horizons in March 2010 as the ‘Super Safety Hero’ to help nursery children stay safe and manage risks. My role as a Health and Safety Super Hero is unique to Bright Horizons and I’m in every nursery, 365 days a year.

Back in 2010, I saw a job advert for a Zebra Super Safety Hero – I was very excited, applied and was invited for an interview with several other zebras. We were interviewed by all the children who then voted on which of us would be their Super Safety Hero. It was hoof biting but I was thrilled when they told me I was the most voted for by the children who all loved me because of my cape and bag. My bag is very special, if something fits inside, it’s a choking hazard. You might be wondering how I got my name. The children in our nurseries chose five names and voted for their favourite. I love it as it’s unique, I mean have you ever heard of a zebra called Candy Floss? Exactly!

Why Bright Horizons

The Bright Horizons passion and enthusiasm for providing high-quality care isn’t just common knowledge within our own business – we’ve also gained some impressive accolades from external sources for excellence as both a childcare provider, and as an employer. We are the only childcare company to have been listed for the last 11 years as one of the country’s top 50 “Great Places to Work” by the Great Place to Work Institute.
