A place to grow

We are located within the David Lloyd Club in Arkleston Road from which we are able to offer extra curricular opportunities such as swimming and tennis lessons from the David Lloyd Coaches as part of your child's nursery day.

It is important to us that each family feels welcomed and the eight-week settling in period we offer helps to ensure that each family receives a bespoke settling in programme which meets the needs of each individual child. The key person approach is embedded in our practice in all playrooms, which ensures each child has a member of staff who is attuned to each child's routine and individual needs. All our rooms benefit from Community Playthings furniture which is adaptable and can be used to create designated calm play spaces or to allow children to explore all areas independently and engage in play with their peers.

Each playroom has been designed with the children's ages and stages of development in mind to create curious and interesting environments which will encourage exploratory and imaginative play. All children are treated as individuals with their key person planning weekly for each child's interests and development milestones. We also place a high importance on the nursery experience we provide having a focus on making memories with the children which will last a lifetime.

The curricula we follow have a focus on providing the children with the skills they will need for lifelong learning. Here at Renfrew, we have won the NMT Green Nursery Award 2012. This is a fantastic achievement for all the children, parents and staff at the nursery who have worked so hard to care for, protect and maintain the local environment. We have a welcoming ethos and most of our parents have come to us after recommendations from existing or previous parents.

Our local schools are Arkleston and Newmains Primary, although we also have links with other schools outside the catchment area. We have an effective relationship with all feeder schools and an effective transition programme is in place. We will be delighted to welcome you to Renfrew day nursery.

Our friendly, experienced and highly qualified staff are on hand to conduct a personal nursery tour at a time to suit you.

Candy Floss

Hi, my name is Candy Floss, I joined Bright Horizons in March 2010 as the ‘Super Safety Hero’ to help nursery children stay safe and manage risks. My role as a Health and Safety Super Hero is unique to Bright Horizons and I’m in every nursery, 365 days a year.

Back in 2010, I saw a job advert for a Zebra Super Safety Hero – I was very excited, applied and was invited for an interview with several other zebras. We were interviewed by all the children who then voted on which of us would be their Super Safety Hero. It was hoof biting but I was thrilled when they told me I was the most voted for by the children who all loved me because of my cape and bag. My bag is very special, if something fits inside, it’s a choking hazard. You might be wondering how I got my name. The children in our nurseries chose five names and voted for their favourite. I love it as it’s unique, I mean have you ever heard of a zebra called Candy Floss? Exactly!

Why Bright Horizons

The Bright Horizons passion and enthusiasm for providing high-quality care isn’t just common knowledge within our own business – we’ve also gained some impressive accolades from external sources for excellence as both a childcare provider, and as an employer. We are the only childcare company to have been listed for the last 11 years as one of the country’s top 50 “Great Places to Work” by the Great Place to Work Institute.
