Rachael McNair

Racheal has worked within Early Years since 2005 and holds a Level 6 – Leadership and Management in Play work and Level 2&3 – Children’s care, learning and development. Rachael was also awarded Educational Leader of the Year at the Suffolk Raising the Bar Awards 2016.

Rachael comments: “Starting as an apprentice, I’ve been committed to many roles, from practitioner to manager within varied settings across Norfolk and Cambridgeshire, from huge 152 place nurseries to small community ones. Having grown up in a lovely small community I pride myself in understanding Early years at its best, a ‘home from home’ environment where we can enable and encourage children’s learning and Development. Allowing them to explore and engage freely, building friendships and making memories!

I am currently studying an open degree in business management and Early Years. In my spare time I enjoy going to the gym, playing music, singing and socialising with friends.”

Rachael is looking forward to continuing her early years career with Bright Horizons and warmly welcomes you to take a Personal Tour.

Sue Brown

My career in childcare started when my children were little and they attended playgroup.  I became a regular parent helper and a member of their committee.  I quickly decided that childcare was my passion and soon became the leader of the group.  I went to college to train as a childcare practitioner and joined the college nursery where I have worked for over 23 years updating my qualifications along the way.
Bright Horizons took over Quayside nursery in 2004 and I now work as the deputy manager working in the rooms two days per week and you will see me in the office on the other days.  I work very closely with new team members ensuring their transition into Bright Horizons is a happy occasion and supporting the nursery manager.
I completed my Childcare degree and also qualified as an Early Years Practitioner as well as being the Special Educational Needs Coordinator for the nursery, working with some wonderful children and families. Other qualifications include First Aid, Child Protection and Safety Awareness which are updated on a regular basis.

I feel very lucky that even though my own children are all grown up, I still have the opportunity to work in a happy environment supporting families and helping children to develop, and I continue to work alongside some wonderful role models and people who are as passionate as me.

Candy Floss

Hi, my name is Candy Floss, I joined Bright Horizons in March 2010 as the ‘Super Safety Hero’ to help nursery children stay safe and manage risks. My role as a Health and Safety Super Hero is unique to Bright Horizons and I’m in every nursery, 365 days a year.

Back in 2010, I saw a job advert for a Zebra Super Safety Hero – I was very excited, applied and was invited for an interview with several other zebras. We were interviewed by all the children who then voted on which of us would be their Super Safety Hero. It was hoof biting but I was thrilled when they told me I was the most voted for by the children who all loved me because of my cape and bag. My bag is very special, if something fits inside, it’s a choking hazard. You might be wondering how I got my name. The children in our nurseries chose five names and voted for their favourite. I love it as it’s unique, I mean have you ever heard of a zebra called Candy Floss? Exactly!

Why Bright Horizons

The Bright Horizons passion and enthusiasm for providing high-quality care isn’t just common knowledge within our own business – we’ve also gained some impressive accolades from external sources for excellence as both a childcare provider, and as an employer. We are the only childcare company to have been listed for the last 11 years as one of the country’s top 50 “Great Places to Work” by the Great Place to Work Institute.
