Kings Cottage Nursery

Why Children Love Us

Bright Horizons Family Solutions has made the difficult decision to close Kings Cottage Nursery and Preschool on 31st August 2017.

The decision to close Kings Cottage is in no way a reflection of the staff teams’ performance. Heidi, Aimee, Julie and the team at Kings Cottage have done a great job and we are very proud of their ongoing commitment to their children and families.

Meet the Team

Aimee Bishop

I started my childcare training in 2004 and achieved my NVQ Level 3 in 2005 where I then started working at Kings Cottage as a Nursery Nurse. Since then I have continued my training and learning progressing firstly to Senior Nursery Nurse, promoted to Deputy Manager and then in 2015 promoted to the Nursery Manager. I am married with a young daughter who is a joy to watch grow.

Julie Dix

I started in childcare 20 years ago as a Nursery Assistant, on having my own family in 1990 I then took some time to be an at home mum but also putting my childcare knowledge to good use by becoming a childminder. When my children were a little older I went back into a Nursery, continued my studies achieving an NVQ Level 3 in Childcare. In 2011, I joined Kings Cottage Day Nursery & Preschool as a Nursery Nurse but soon progressed to Senior Nursery Nurse and I am now the Deputy Manager.

Candy Floss

Hi, my name is Candy Floss, I joined Bright Horizons in March 2010 as the ‘Super Safety Hero’ to help nursery children stay safe and manage risks. My role as a Health and Safety Super Hero is unique to Bright Horizons and I’m in every nursery, 365 days a year.

Back in 2010, I saw a job advert for a Zebra Super Safety Hero – I was very excited, applied and was invited for an interview with several other zebras. We were interviewed by all the children who then voted on which of us would be their Super Safety Hero. It was hoof biting but I was thrilled when they told me I was the most voted for by the children who all loved me because of my cape and bag. My bag is very special, if something fits inside, it’s a choking hazard. You might be wondering how I got my name. The children in our nurseries chose five names and voted for their favourite. I love it as it’s unique, I mean have you ever heard of a zebra called Candy Floss? Exactly!
