Highgate Day Nursery and Preschool

Why Children Love Us

A place to grow

Our nursery setting is open Monday to Friday from 08:00 to 18:30, for children aged 3 months to 5 years.
We are located in the Grounds of Highgate Studios. Conveniently located close to Kentish Town Underground Station or Gospel Oak Overground station.

We offer a warm, welcoming environment supporting the transition from home to nursery, and we provide excellent nutritionally-balanced menus using fresh ingredients prepared by our own chef. Children are further able to explore their surroundings and learn about the wider world through walks and trips out. The bright, well-designed building with designated rooms for each age group provides a welcoming and secure environment for babies and children to learn and play.

Extracurricular activities include weekly Music and Movement sessions and PE sports sessions. Children in the nursery are also well prepared to transition to school with the unique Ready for School Programme, which includes Growing Readers, Writers and Mathematicians. There is an annual graduation ceremony to celebrate children’s achievements before going to school.

All of our fees are fully inclusive of wipes, nappies, formula milk and meals. Our highly qualified team helped us to secure a Good rating in our latest Ofsted inspection

Meet the Team

Simone Prince

I am a dedicated childcare professional who has been working in the childcare and education sector for over 15 years.
I have been managing nurseries for 9 years and I am passionate about children’s learning and development.
I currently hold a level 3 Childcare qualification, a level 4 qualification in the Management Of Quality Children’s Services and an A1 Childcare Assessors Award. I am continuing to study towards a degree in Early Childhood Studies.
My visions is to create a welcoming, safe and stimulating environment for all children, a place where they can learn, develop and feel valued.
I look forward to working with the staff, children and families of Highgate Nursery and I hope to develop and strengthen the partnership with parents.

Charlmale Smith

I started working at kidsunlimited nursery in July 2007 as a permanent bank staff and I worked there for 3 years before going on to experience a Montessori nursery which I enjoyed. I started working from March 2011 as a nursery nurse from which I progressed in doing my level 3 diploma for children and young people's workforce with Smart Training organisation. I stayed in the company for 3 years.

In February 2013, I wanted to progress and I applied for a room supervisor for 2-3s room in kidsunlimited in Regents Place before I progressed to become third in charge. In October 2015, I got promoted to acting deputy manager before moving to Highgate as deputy manager. I am currently at having a superb time getting to know the children and the team and they have welcomed me so kindly.

Candy Floss

Hi, my name is Candy Floss, I joined Bright Horizons in March 2010 as the ‘Super Safety Hero’ to help nursery children stay safe and manage risks. My role as a Health and Safety Super Hero is unique to Bright Horizons and I’m in every nursery, 365 days a year.

Back in 2010, I saw a job advert for a Zebra Super Safety Hero – I was very excited, applied and was invited for an interview with several other zebras. We were interviewed by all the children who then voted on which of us would be their Super Safety Hero. It was hoof biting but I was thrilled when they told me I was the most voted for by the children who all loved me because of my cape and bag. My bag is very special, if something fits inside, it’s a choking hazard. You might be wondering how I got my name. The children in our nurseries chose five names and voted for their favourite. I love it as it’s unique, I mean have you ever heard of a zebra called Candy Floss? Exactly!
